INTERNET VS CYBERSPACE

“Differentiating between the Internet and cyberspace makes sense because the Internet and

cyberspace are "real," but different. The Internet can be understood as the real-space physical

and logical infrastructures that enable applications and content delivery, while cyberspace

may be understood as the "virtual-world" experiences based on human beings' use of

Internet-enabled applications and the consumption of content communicated across the

Internet. Differentiation is one thing, but I do not think that a choice needs to be made (by

courts, legislators, academics, or anyone else) between Internet or cyberspace perspectives. In

fact, I believe that making a choice is itself part of the problem.”
