UPDATED 21.8.15: D-10000 Built 17 February 1977 Type V35B
15
On the 17 February 1977, the 10,000th Beech 35 Bonanza was released from production flight tests, exactly 30 years
and 2 days after the first Model 35 Bonanza was delivered on the 15 February 1947.
D-10000 is a Model V35B and has its own special regal blue and silver frost metallic urethane external paint scheme
with specially cast "D-10000" emblems on the engine cowlings. The interior is finished to match and is equipped with
an impressive array of avionics and other comforts. The special registration issued is N35VB.
Production of the aircraft began on the 27 December 1976 when work on the wings started at Beechcrafts’ Salina,
Kansas Division. Control surfaces were completed on 13 January 1977 at the Liberal, Kansas Division while the spar
centre-section was being completed at the Boulder, Colorado Division. Final assembly was performed at Wichita,
Kansas, painting was completed on 27 January 1977 and the aircraft left the assembly line on the 9 February 1977 ready
for flight tests and the stamp of acceptance.
Following a press showing in early March the aircraft became a Beechcraft demonstrator and was displayed at various
locations in America during September 1977. Beechcraft Aviation Centers displayed the aircraft at special open-house
occasions and it also featured at national Aviation events such as the Reading Air Show, Flying Dentists and Flying
Physicians conventions, the Experimental Aircraft Association convention and the American Bonanza Society
convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The final display was in Wichita when the aircraft returned for the Beechcraft
International Sales Conference in the autumn.
