Minister of Finance on 30.08,2022 for the revision of the Appropriation Act No. 30 of 2021, has been passed by the parliament and accordingly, approval of the Cabinet of Ministers has been granted at the Cabinet meeting held on 12.09.2022 to make necessary revisions to the Pensions Minute. 02. Accordingly, Public Administration Circular 02/2022 issued on 06.01.2022 is hereby cancelled after 31.12.2022. Accordingly, this revision should be made applicable to all public officers except the officers of the judicial service whose age of compulsory retirement has been determined precisely either by the Constitution or Judicature Act. 03. Accordingly, action should be taken in the following manner for the retirement/ sending on retirement of public officers in terms of this Cabinet decision, 3.1. Taking action considering the age of compulsory retirement of all public officers is 60 years with effect from 01.01.2023. A 3.2. Granting opportunity to the officers, who are at present serving beyond the age of 60 years and those who complete the age of 60 years on or before 31.12.2022, to retire on their option on or before 31.12.2022. 3.3. Getting the applications for pension approved by the appointing authority following the proper procedure, which are submitted by the officers who are due to retire in the above manner and submitting them to the Director General of Pensions in the proper manner. 3.4, Taking action as per paragraph 03 of Public Administration Circular 19/2010 dated 30.09.2010 regarding the leave preparatory to the pension, 3.5. Taking aetion as per Public Administration Circular 03/2018 dated 20.02.2018, which is effective at present, if it is necessary to obtain service of a certain category of specialists even after determining the age of compulsory retirement as 60 years, 04, The extension of the minimum period of service from five years up to ten, which is prescribed for the entitlement to the pension of the officers, who become eligible for the pension under Schedule *Q’ of the Pensions Minute, shall be effective without any change. 05. The age of compulsory retirement mentioned in the circulars issued previously in connection with the retirement should be revised as 60 years of age with effect from 01.01.2023, 06.
