Complete the following making sure to support your ideas and cite from the textbook and other
course materials per APA guidelines. After the peer review, you have a chance to update this and
format for your Electronic Portfolio due in Module 6.

1) Name and describe your organization.

Hello, my name is Glory Tshokama. I work at Amazon Web Services. Amazon web
service is the fastest-growing cloud provider service on the planet. Americanization is the
leading organization in customer focus, innovation, and technology segment. Beyond
AWS, which stands for Amazon Web Service, most people know Amazon as a leading e-
commerce platform where people and happy prime members shop and enjoy one to two
days of delivery of their goods. Amazon has multiple companies inside it, and AWS is
the leading cloud computing platform that enables various subsidiary companies to build,
deploy, and manage their websites, applications, and processes on the AWS network.

2) Describe your role in the organization (it can be an internal or external role).

I work in the Sales Billing department of Amazon Web Service as an Operation Analyst.
I help manage and process approximately $1 billion US dollars of Billing and discounting
for MBS Enterprise Customers. In my role, I coordinated multiple discounting teams'
activities through communication, data intake, contract review, and compilation of
customer data to the delivery of 100% RFP completion by day 12th of each month.
proactively identify and implement operational improvements, enhancements, and system
customizations that meet business requirements while training new analysts to master and
understand how to run billing processes and contract review cycles.

3) Describe the situation, including information you think the will help the reader
understand the most important elements of the situation. (This will require
selectivity: part of the art of case writing is separating the essential facts from the
mass of information that might be included).

An essential skill for running a successful Bill Run is accuracy and knowing how to solve
any problem. Knowing how to resolve issues and the delegate is key. When detail is

needed, it is essential to know how to collaborate across functional teams to deliver a
solution for the customer. For example, being accurate is the number one skill and focus
one needs to develop in my role. The number one way to achieve accuracy is to build
systems that enable you to catch any inaccuracy quickly; that's why process Improvement
is essential.

Here is an example of when I created a process that is still helping my organization

today.
One difficult situation for me when I joined was that it was challenging to learn how to
operate our billing processes efficiently because the learning depended on a mentor's
availability to train. In addition, there wasn't a standard operating procedure for most of
our key processes, and new analysts struggled to learn how to run our process quickly
and accurately. So I initiated, developed, and implemented the SOP documentation of our
operations and developed a recorded training in partnership with one of my colleagues.
This new system I created became a standard across all teams in my organization because
it facilitated any new analyst to learn quickly, save time, and increase learning
satisfaction by 98% during onboarding.
