potter the sorcerer's Setting ( temporal and

physical )

Setting refers to the location or type of environment in
which something is placed or where an event occurs. It is
significant because it has a significant impact on the plot
development of a novel.

A story would be meaningless if it didn't have a location.

The book begins with Harry living with his aunt and uncle
and their son in a small house outside London.

There are many settings in the novel but the most
important ones are three.

1- First setting, The cafeteria is another important setting. This is
where all of the meetings take place, including the one where
Harry is chosen as Gryffindor.

Quote: You might belong in Gryffindor,
Where dwell the brave at heart,
Their daring, nerve, and chivalry,
Set Gryffindors apart;
You might belong in Hufflepuff,
Where they are just and loyal,
Those patient Hufflepuffs are true
And unafraid of toil;
Or yet in wise old Ravenclaw,
If you’ve a ready mind,
Where those of wit and learning,
Will always find their kind;
Or perhaps in Slytherin
You’ll make your real friends,
Those cunning folks use any means
To achieve their ends.
So put me on! Don’t be afraid!
And don’t get in a flap!
You’re in safe hands (though I have none)
For I’m a Thinking Cap”

1- Second setting, The forbidden woodland is the following
setting. He spends the rest of the book in this section. It's at
Hogwarts, a wizarding and witching school. Many of his major
experiences take place here.

Quote: “Whether you come back by page or by the big screen,
Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home”

2- Third setting, The last scene takes place in a hidden room,
where Harry discovers the stone and uses it to defeat Lord
Voldemort.

Quote: There is no good and evil, there is only power and those too
weak to seek it.

Finally, The major setting, of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
takes place in England in the 1990s. There are numerous options for
customized settings. Vernon and Petunia Dursely's house in Surrey
is where the story begins. Harry is then "rescued" by Rubeus Hagrid
and sent to the wizarding world, where the majority of the story
takes place While Harry spends the majority of his time at Hogwarts,
the School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, in each book, we find him
stuck in the Dursleys' residence in Little Whinging, the Muggle world,
at the start of each narratives.
