In a today’s ICT driven era, the end user of any information system has occupied the central

position. A large number of activities are directed towards benefits of stakeholders of e-

governance system in order to deliver better and ease of facilities to them. Municipal
corporations worldwide are paying special attention towards e-governance implementation in
their operations and have changed their mode of operation of imparting facilities to its citizens.

Information and Communication Technology (ICT) gained recognition in the recent time,
primarily driven by its perception as computerization of operations of municipal corporations.
There is immense need of evaluating the usability of e-governance implementation in Municipal
Corporation; especially citizen perceptions about the usability of e-governance systems are
valuable. There is no such exhaustive study is being undertaken in the field of selected municipal
corporations to evaluate usability of e-governance systems.
Hence this research study titled “Usability Evaluation of e-governance in Selected Municipal
Corporations”, which strives to explain how better usability has impact on effectiveness of e-
governance systems.
