What are Private Crimes?

ANSWER: Private Crimes are those which cannot be prosecuted except upon
complaints filed by the aggrieved party.

How do we distinguish Private crimes to that of Public Crimes?

ANSWER: Public crimes are those civil or criminal offenses that affects the state or the people of the
Philippines. However, Private crime are those offenses committed that directly affects the aggrieve
party.

Who can initiate the filing of the case in Private Crimes? Only the aggravated party.
