Read the following passage, then answer the questions below:
Elephants are the largest land animals. They have long trunks and
big feet. They use their trunks for drinking, smelling, breathing and for
greeting other elephants. Elephants can live to be over 70 years old.
Elephants live in Africa. It is very hot there, so they use their big ears to
cool themselves down. An elephant’s skin is thick. Elephants spend half of
the day eating. They like to eat grass, leaves and fruit. Elephants have
poor eye sight but an amazing sense of smell. They can cry, play, and
laugh. Also, they have good memories. People hunt elephants for their
ivory tusks.
