TEACHING STATEMENT

As a future teacher of English in Early Childhood Education, I would like to teach using
different methodologies that are the result of learning both what is intended to be taught,
that is, the content to be addressed, and the learning of language. I would do it this way
because I believe that children are acquiring learning both the subject and the language
naturally, through a joint practice.
With this type of methodology, the intention would be for students to learn to plan,
encourage and evaluate both the topics and the language. Giving opportunities to students
to build their notions of language learning and commitment to content.
This teaching can facilitate students' learning so that the areas of skills, which are
listening, speaking, reading and writing, are involved in such learning. This will be done
progressively, and adapted to children, with practices that include these skills, such as
videos, songs, routines, stories, cards to introduce writing, etc. So, in this way you can
see if the students are meeting the objectives I want to achieve since by including these
skills and various practices, we see if they evolve in the content and in the language. I
also consider that the teaching and learning process is of a rather language nature and not
so grammatical.
Speaking in terms of content, my intention would be to promote the subject through
learning that generates interest to students who build learning outcomes. This can be
achieved, along with the above skills, through communication, understanding, among
other elements that can give results to teaching, based on principles of active, cooperative
learning and with knowledge construction.
On the other hand, a very important aspect is the learning environment. To make it a
pleasant learning environment and attractive to children, I believe that, depending on the
activity to be carried out, the space must be adequate, organized and with the necessary
resources at our disposal. Also, using visual resources constantly I think is essential in
children, learning will be much more effective.
Therefore, to conclude, I consider important the aspects discussed above to include in the
learning of students so that it allows their cognitive development in a safe space. I also
consider it important to know and keep in mind the characteristics of children to apply
the methodologies.
