This process, which involved relationship flow diagrams, process flowcharts, and multi-product charts,
was used to determine the most efficient sequences in which raw materials move through stages of
processing and the intensity of the movement. It demonstrated how raw materials flow from one
workstation to the next until the end of production. The activity relationship chart was used to
demonstrate the relationship between pairs of activities that precede one another in a process. Based on
their anticipated ratings, the graphic highlighted the significance of the proximity between these
machines.
