Today's webinar topic is the management and reduction of disaster risk. Disaster risk
reduction is the concept that practice of reducing the risks associated with disasters by
scientific efforts to determine and lessen the causes of disasters. To boost resilience
effectively, by implication, achieve sustainable development, disaster risk reduction aims to
avoid future disasters, reduce existing disaster risk, and manage residual risk. What I gained
throughout the entire seminar was all about the various kinds of natural disasters that we may
encounter, especially when they hit us suddenly and we have little time to prepare for or find
rescue. I also discovered that either the responders nor the nurses are allowed to declare him
dead; instead, they are only permitted to state that there is no signs of life and that the doctors
are the only ones who have said that he/she passed away, or the time of death. I came to
understand that being a responder means you shouldn't be anxious because if you do, you
won't be able to help as much on the day you have to rescue someone. It's also not simple to
be a rescuer or responder because life is in the hands of, they take note that they are
unexpectedly called to help people in need. I also realized that we need to always have an
emergency kit in our handbag or bag so that our belongings are prepared in advance of any
calamity rather than packing all the important things when a calamity occurs
