Taste and evaluation of art in its essence is subjective and partly objective.

A part of how we
perceive art is characterized by various factors that influence our approach to art.
Art appreciation is highly subjective as it is based on how someone sees art but it also has
something to do with why you see it that way, which requires knowledge and understanding.
Such factors affect how we view art and what interpretations we ascribe to it. As to age, what
you might consider artistic when you were younger might no longer be the same when you are
older; reason might be that your perception and taste of art changes over time. Gender may differ
or not depending on the person’s taste. Some men might focus on the artist’s identity while some
women might focus on the artwork itself or vice versa. It’s just a matter of discernment
regardless of what your gender is. Social status can also shape how one views art like how those
in the high class are enthralled with expensive artworks while those in the lower class appreciate
any accessible artworks. But I also believed that regardless of social status, the ability to
appreciate art is dependent on anyone’s flair not on their wealth. Lastly, different races have art
that represents their culture and identity. Through this, anyone regardless of race can try to
understand the similarities and differences it has with their own and appreciate the beauty of
other creations.
In short, taste and evaluation of art are embodied with these multifaceted concepts but it does not
limit to that since art is open to interpretation and appreciation of anyone.
