Now let’s get to your letters! Dear Arrow Mail, Initial concerns | had: 41, The Ringo of the Avengers? ‘Send letters to: mheroes@marvel.com 435 W 50th St, 7th Floor, New York, NY 10020 (Please mark okay to print) 2, Purple? What is this, Prince with a bow and arrow? 3. Bow and arrow? What millennium is this? 4, Can | trust a creative team that favors NL Gentral teams? But those concems were answered thus: 4, Everyone, including the cats, at Fat Jacks Comic Crypt (best comic. shop in Philly) recommend this book. 2. The track record of Fraction/Aja (we're big iron Fist fans), 3, Purple! | got 4 pages into #2 (I cant find #1 any- where!) and | was hooked. By the time I fin~ ished #3, this was my new favorite Marvel monthly. Though you fail to accept the dominance of the Phillies, | shall eagerly purchase each Issue of HAWKEYE Gary Wordman Philly (though I'm secretly @ huge Cardi fan and Wacker didn't type this him PS: Suggested listening: Roseaux & Aloe Blace "Walking On The Moan” Thanks, Gary. And please say hello to everyone at Fat Jack's. It really is a great store thal everyone should visit. (And then leave town immediately because it's Philly and not only does Venom live there, but the ‘women and children will throw batteries at you.) ‘and since we have no official Recom- mended Listening list this time out, your ‘suggestion will be the official one. = The next letter was actually sent into the Spider-Man office (which is basically the left hand side of my desk), but | thought it ‘was appropriate to run here. Dear Marvel, ‘So my wife asked me wy | wanted to write to you guys and | said | don't know, ! just do. Let's call it mini-therapy for now. | wanted ta let you know the impact Hurricane Sandy had on me and my family (everyone is safe and sound and that is what matters most), A litle background first: my name is Jesse and | live(d) on Staten Isiand with my wife, Marisa, and 8 month old son, Eddie. We ‘were so happy there and had made a nic little home for ourselves over the last year. Personally, | have been an avid comic collec- tar for 25+ years and hoped to one day pass ‘SANA AMANAT ASSOCIATE EDITOR STEPHEN WACKER SENIOR EDITOR AXEL ALONSO EDITOR IN CHIEF JOE QUESADA ‘CHEF CREATIVE OFFICER DAN BUCKLEY PUBLISHER ALAN FINE [EXECUTIVE PRODUCER my collection down to Eddie ‘As | mentioned, Eddie is 8 months old and used to be the proud owner of the best Marvel nursery on the planet. Along with the rest of the house, his room was completely destroyed by flooding caused by Hurricane Sandy. My aforementioned comic collection of 25+ years was also completely washed away, I'm sure every collector out ther knows exactly how much time, money, and effort goes into something like that and can sympathize but back to Eddie's room be- cause it was truly awesome, He had every Marvel Mighty Mugg that ‘could fit on his shelf, the entire Marvel Lego collection, special custom made Marvel crib bedding and changing cover, a hand sewn Hulk picture, 2 pieces of original comic art (luckily some of that survived since it was above the water level on the first floor), 2 Spider-Man fold out couch, countless dolls and toys, and a handmade decoupage comic shelf | made myself. 'm including some pics so you can see for yourselves. ag aed = es The most depressing thing | saw the next day was that nursery. Everything was com: pletely ruined in a big wet, dirty ple on the floor. ‘Along with being therapeutic, | think one of the reasons | am writing this letter is for ‘motivation. !just need to remind myself that ‘while we may be down temporarily we will rebuild our litle Avengers Mansion, Eddie's new Marvel nursery included. And so will the rest of the New York & New Jersey resi dents who lost their homes, My heart goes out ta those that lost more. 'm not asking for any type of handout be cause | am sure there are people that are in worse situations than us but f this did show up ina letter column and | could show it to Eade one day, wel that would be prety cool Either way thanks for listening, Proud New Yorker, Father, & Husband, Jesse Kraus Thanks for writing, Jesse. We're all very happy to hear the important stuff made it through okay. That boy's got a pretty re- silient Daddy! (And we'll be sending you some comics soon too so you can start re- building that collection.) —$____—_—_—_ All around the East Coast there are people still suffering from the storm. It was a pretty scary few days and for some, their entire lives were upended...or worse. There's only so much one comic can do and we recognize that. Fraction, for his part, is donating a portion of his proceeds on this issue to the Red Cross (which is where Marvel and Disney made their donations as well), so if you're so inclined please help them--or any other charity-out with anything you can. Our deepest thanks and respect go out to everyone who volunteered their time and money to help those affected by the storm. The losses were deep and great and hard to wrap your head around. However, it's inspiring to see the myriad ways people aon stand up for one another. W's one of the ongoing themes of our litle comic book here that we're all in this to- gether, “waist-deep in a big muddy”...and ‘during a hurricane force storm in October, we got to see it firsthand, See you next month, Stephen Wacker 2 S > re Everrha ajudar a $Q como tradutor (precisa saber bem o ingfés), revisor (ser acima da médiaeg em portugues e saber ingfés) ou diagramador (apenas precisa ter um computador, — f= o resto 6 ensintado a vocé por profissionais experientes da SQ).
