A. 1. I had decided to go out with my friends for lunch when my mother came to my room with a
smile on her face.
2. I had promised my mother that I will help her clean the house even before I said yes to my
friends.
3. My mom had reminded me of my promise when the doorbell rang. It was my friends.
4. They had understood even before I explained at length.
5. Before the day ended, I had realized the importance of keeping all your promises, however
small they be.

B. Using the past perfect tense, narrate in a 3-5 sentence paragraph a situation in which you
realized the value of keeping your promises.

It was the night before our long test in one of my subjects in Grade 4. My Father had talked to
me about tomorrow’s test and he even gave me tips and advised me to stay focused on every detail
of it. And since I had promised them to take my studies seriously, I know the fact that their
expectations are quite high. Day of the examination, I had a hard time answering most of the
questions on which I ended up failing the test. I had told them everything and since then I promised
myself not to let my parents down ever again.

 My apologies po teacher since I forgot my notebook sa kabilang bahay kaya sa MS Word na lang
po ako gumawa for this assignment. Will just try to rewrite it once nakuha ko na po ang
notebook sa kabilang bahay. Salamat po. - Markus
