Assessment # 1 (Mid Sem Exam), Semester one AY2021/22

Module Name: Electrical Technology

Module Code: ELE-2210

Date: October 11th, 2021

Duration: 1 Hour 15 Minutes (03:00PM to 4:15PM)

Instructions

1. This is a Timed Exam. Attempt ALL questions.


2. Start answering sequentially (In same order as the question paper, first
question followed by second and so on).
3. Use White, Letter size (A4) paper for your answers.
4. Each answer sheet should contain your Name and ID number on the top
right of the answer sheet
5. All answered scripts (each page) has to be pictured along with your
University ID on top left of the page (not blocking the answers)
6. Make sure the handwriting is visible clearly in your pictures (properly
focused and illuminated).
7. Combine all your pictures in to one file (you can use MSWord, pdf scanner
app or camscanner app) preferably in a medium size. (to optimally
decrease the size of files) No links will be accepted only single file.
8. Mail your file to apaduri@utech.edu.jm before allotted time, 4:15 PM
9. Do not delete these pictures from your device till your exam results are
released.
10. Distribution of grade, test -20%, Practical’s- 20%, Assignment – 10% and
Final Assessment- 50%
1). For the given circuit configuration shown below, write the mesh equations for
the loops (Any five loops) [15 Marks]

2). Calculate the currents through 12 ohms resistor (R3) for circuit below.
[10 Marks]

3). Calculate the Vout for the circuit below. [4 Marks]


4). Using Superposition principle, calculate the total currents flowing through the
resistor R2. When R1= 10 ohms, R2= 25 ohms, R3= 18 ohms, R4= 8 ohms, R5=12
ohms, R6=13 ohms And V1= 6V, V2= 9V. [15 Marks]

5). Find the total current for the following circuit shown below, if V=12v [6 Marks]
