Climate change

por Fernanda Paredes Juárez

What is climate change?

Climate change refers to long-term changes in temperatures and
weather patterns. These changes may be natural, but since the 19th
century, human activities have been the main driver of climate
change, mainly due to the burning of fossil fuels, such as coal, oil
and gas, which produces gases that trap the heat.

What is the origin of climate change?

Climate change is caused by factors that include oceanic processes
(such as oceanic circulation), biotic processes (e.g., plants),
variations in solar radiation received by Earth, plate tectonics and
volcanic eruptions, and human-induced alterations of the natural
world.

How does change affect

climate to my country?
The impacts of climate change on different sectors of society are
interrelated. Drought can harm food production and human health.
Flooding can lead to disease spread and damages to ecosystems
and infrastructure. Human health issues can increase mortality,
impact food availability, and limit worker productivity.

How does change affect

climate to my community?
Climate change impacts our society by disrupting the natural,
economic and social systems we depend on. This disruption will
affect food supplies, industry supply chains and financial markets,
damage infrastructure and cities, and harm human health and
global development. The impacts of climate change are already
here.

Alternatives to mitigate climate change

Reduce emissions
Save energy
Put the 3 'R's of sustainability into practice
The diet? low carbon
Take action against forest loss

Final thoughts
We are facing the threat of serious global environmental changes.
We have no other choice, we must achieve the stabilization of the
concentrations of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere at a level
that avoids dangerous risks for the planet.
