M TECH PROJECT:

Vibration Analysis and Material optimization of Engine Bracket:

The objective is to do a modal analysis of the engine bracket to determine whether

the design has a natural frequency which is lower than the excitation frequency of the engine bracket, in which case the design will be considered safe. Once safety of the design is established, then optimization will be done.
Material Optimization: The design will be tested for different materials like Aluminum, Magnesium and Grey Cast Iron, and suitability of material will be tested. Thickness Optimization: For the material selected from Step A, the design will be thickened by stages of 2mm, 5mm and 7mm, and performance will be evaluated for the different thicknesses.

These simulations will be done using FEA and the software ANSYS.
