PRESENTATION OPENING

Referring to Chapter 1 and 2 that have been discussed, please prepare your work on those chapters for
presentation opening which focuses on three aspects below:

1. Introduction:
Learn and choose appropriate expressions in Book 2, Unit 1, for opening your presentation,
including introducing the topic of your presentation.

2. Rewrite three statements for establishing your credibility related to the topic you have chosen.
Learn some examples of credibility statements from the additional text ‘Credibility Statements and
Examples’.

3. Relate the topic of your presentation to your audience’s needs /interests and tell why your topic is
relevant to them. See Book 2, Unit 1.

4. Give an opinion on the appropriacy of the topic your group has selected. Your opinion may refer
to the relevance of the presenter’s credibility to the topic and how he/she relates his/her topic to
his/her audience.

A. Write down your presentation opening in paragraphs. Each paragraph consists of 2 or 3 sentences,
addressing each question above. Submit your work to the coordinator one day before your
performance.

B. During your presentation opening you are not allowed to bring any note.
