RESPONSIBILITIES

 Support countries’ adherence to EngenderHealth Standard Operating Procedures for


purchasing,
office administration and
human resource management. The compliance responsibility ultimately lies on the countries.

 Manage the regional office clearing process of shipments/air, including medical and computer
equipment, expatriate shipments, etc through the customs and treasury departments.
 Provide support to countries’ oversight over finance and operations including accounting,
information technology, procurement, inventory, and facilities management.

 Manage and supervise
 the Regional Grants and Procurement Officer,
Bookkeepers and
Administrative Assistants when recruited

 Plan and organize regional training for administrative and technical staff in finance and
accounting policies and procedures, including cost principles, travel regulations and
procurement principles.
 Establish and maintain systems for purchase approval and asset use, ensuring adequate internal
control, for the regional office, in accordance with EH standard operating procedures.

 Maintain regional asset and inventory registers and controls over fixed assets, such as vehicles,
office furniture and equipment. Support countries in doing the same
 Ensure that all countries offices adhere local laws and tax regulations, and that taxes are paid to
the tax authorities as prescribed by law.
 Assure standard EH regional and countries’ finance reports are prepared per EH requirements,
reviewed and interpreted;

 Establish, document and communicate office operations standards to EH staff and consultants.
 Negotiate service contracts for equipment and service and service provision as necessary.

 Plan logistics for
program meetings,
workshops and
retreats ensuring high standards and efficiency all times, including working within set budgets
.

 Assure that the finance and operations team operates with transparency, highest integrity and
provides the highest quality services to all projects.
JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Regional Representative, the Finance & Administrative Manager is responsible for
providing support to country offices for the effective and efficient management of the countries’
financial, administrative and procurement systems in full compliance with EngenderHealth’s (EH)
standards. He will collaborate with EH HQ (and dotted line reporting to the Senior Director, FPA &
Pricing and to the Senior Director, Grants and Contracts) and country offices for the preparation of all
statutory, donor and EH required financial statements.  He/She needs to be aware, and ensure EH
compliance with regulations and countries’ laws. He/She needs to have exceptional customer service
skills in order to serve countries’ offices with the highest quality of service possible.
