Guidelines of the Contests

I. Essay-Writing Contest ( English and Filipino)

Guidelines:

1. This activity will be integrated in regular schedule of the


English and Filipino subjects in each year level and section.
2. All the students in high school will be given the chance to
participate.
3. There will be three (3) separate winners in each year level.
4. The participants will use pen name in order not to be
identified.
5. Identification sheet will be given by the assigned committee
before the contest proper.
6. It is a one hour activity and there will be no extension at
any given circumstances.
7. A maximum of 500 words is allotted for the composition.
8. The decision of the chairperson and the judges of this
activity is irrevocable and will always be considered as valid
and final.
9. The materials like yellow pad paper and black ballpen will be
provided by the participants at their own expense.
10. Any misbehavior of the participants and the advisers in the
contest will mean disqualification.

II. Poster - Making Contest

Guidelines:

1. This activity will be integrated in regular schedule of the


Arts subject in each year level and section.
2. All the students in high school will be given the chance to
participate.
3. Their output should be relevant to the theme.

4. There will be four (4) winners taken from any level and
section.
 First , Second, Third , and Fourth place
5. The participants will use pen name in order not to be
identified. Their pen name should be seen at the back of the
illustration board.
6. Identification sheet will be given by the assigned committee
before the contest proper.
7. It is a one hour activity and there will be no extension at
any given circumstances.
8. They can only use four colors of pastel crayon, pentel pen,
pencil of any brand and 1/4 sized of illustration board.
9. The decision of the chairperson and the judges of this
activity is irrevocable and will always be considered as valid
and final.
10. Any misbehavior of the participants and the advisers in the
contest will mean disqualification.

III. Slogan - Making Contest

Guidelines:

1. This activity will be integrated in regular schedule of the


Arts subject in each year level and section.
2. All the students in high school will be given the chance to
participate.
3. Their output should be relevant to the theme.
4. There will be four (4) winners taken from any level and
section.
 First , Second, Third , and Fourth place
5. The participants will use pen name in order not to be
identified. Their pen name should appear at the back of the
cartolina.
6. The materials used are pentel pen and 1/2 sized of white
cartolina.
7. Identification sheet will be given by the assigned committee
before the contest proper.
8. It is a one hour activity and there will be no extension at
any given circumstances.
9. They can only use a maximum of eight words based on the theme.
Note: Filipino language should be used.
10. The decision of the chairperson and the judges of this
activity is irrevocable and will always be considered as valid
and final.
11. Any misbehavior of the participants and the advisers in the
contest will mean disqualification.

IV. Cooking Festival ( Iron Chef Style )

Guidelines:

1. All the students in high school will be given the chance to


participate.
2. Each year level will be represented by five students and they
will be the official participants in the contest.
3. Winners will be declared as first, second, third and fourth
placer.
4. It is a one and a half hour activity including the
presentation (table setting) and there will be no extension at
any given circumstances.
5. The four teams will prepare exotic food wherein only the
available ingredients and resources provided by the committee are
to be used.
8. The decision of the chairperson and the judges of this
activity is irrevocable and will always be considered as valid
and final.
9. Any misbehavior of the participants and the advisers in the
contest will mean disqualification.

V. Nutriquiz

Guidelines:

1. All the students in high school will be given the chance to


participate.
2. Only five representatives of each sections of all year level
are considered participants.
3. There will be four (4) winners taken from any level and
section.
 First , Second, Third , and Fourth place

4. The scope will be provided by the committee.


5. Each team should submit one question for easy, average,
difficult and two questions for clincher in a 1/8 sized of index
card on the contest itself. Below the question, answer should
appear and also the reference with the name of the author and the
copy right year which should be 2000 and the year forward. The
following should be given attention strictly:
 Easy question ( multiple choice with four options – 5
seconds)
 Average question ( Fill in the blank with one respond –
15 seconds )
 Difficult question ( Enumeration type with a maximum of
three possible answers – 25 seconds )
 Clincher question ( Enumeration type with a maximum of
five possible answers or fill in the blank with two
responds)
Note:
 The clincher question will only be used in case of
a tie.
 Always wait for the signal “GO” before writing the
answer.
 Disqualified questions are not to be replaced.
 Only three warnings will be given to the
contestants and trainers who show misbehavior.
After which is disqualification.
6. The answer of every team will be written in the illustration
board given by the committee.
7. The decision of the chairperson and the judges of this
activity is irrevocable and will always be considered as valid
and final.

VI. Jingle Making – Contest

Guidelines:

1. All the students in high school will be given the chance to


participate.
2. Each section in the year level will be considered participants
with only a maximum of 20 students.
3. Only seven minutes will be allotted for every performance
including entrance and exit.
4. No accompaniment of any kind.
5. Props are strictly prohibited.
6. The jingle should be in Filipino and has relevance to the
theme.
7. The official wear will be P.E. t-shirt, jogging pants and
rubber shoes.
8. Putting make-up, glitters, body paint and such to modify the
physical feature will not be accepted.
9. All students who are watching are expected to keep silence
during the performance or else 2 points will be deducted to their
team.
10. The decision of the chairperson and the judges of this
activity is irrevocable and will always be considered as valid
and final.
