• The process of collecting and interpreting numerical data is known as
quantitative research. It can be used to detect patterns and averages, make
predictions, evaluate causal linkages, and generalize results to larger
populations.
• Quantitative research is the opposite of qualitative research, which involves
collecting and analyzing non-numerical data.
• Quantitative research is utilized extensively in the scientific and social
sciences, including biology, chemistry, psychology, economics, sociology,
and marketing.

• To collect quantitative data, you will often need to use operational definitions that
translate abstract concepts into observable and quantifiable measures.
• Quantitative data is any data that is in numerical form such as statistics,
percentages, etc.
