Professional Development: Task 2 – Identifying

job roles in your chosen area/industry(U3: LO 3.2, AC 2.1
& 2.2))

You are required to carry out the following three tasks to complete this
assignment. I’ll be looking for these headings on your page:

Skills Audit Analysis: This section is designed to get you thinking about your own
strengths as well as identifying things you’d like to be better at.

Transferable Skills Analysis: We’re then going to look at skills you feel can be
applied to the course and your career as an Esports professional, which you may have
learned in other aspects of your life.

Identifying and applying effective working practices: Finally, we’ll look at some
established effective working practices which you’ll discuss the importance of. You’ll
then grade yourself out of ten for each one.

You can copy and paste the relevant tasks of this worksheet on to your
Weebly page in order to complete for submission

• Use this worksheet to help you construct your response to this section of
the assignment brief.
• You will be given certain assignment tasks to be completed in class
• You may also undertake ‘extended learning’ outside of the class time
when required
• You will use your Weebly page for your response. No hard copy is
required, but you are advised to keep any work safe by uploading it
digitally.
• You must reference ALL sources that you use in researching this
assignment, and this must be made clear in your response.
• Remember, plagiarism will result in your work being failed and possible
disciplinary action taken.

Task 3 – IDENTIFYING AND APPLYING EFFECTIVE WORKING PRACTICES

(Do this task on your Weebly page)

OK, for this one I’d like you to give a brief description of how you can apply
each of the following twenty effective working practices to the Level 3 Esports
course and why these are considered important. Also grade yourself out 10
for each one

1 Punctuality – Using punctuality in the Esports course can give you the biggest
boost of information and skills you possibly can and prevents you from missing
any important details. Punctuality within assignments will show your dedication
and interest and therefore will get you far. I grade myself 10/10.

2 Motivation – Motivation is key to doing any sort of learning and working in this
world. I’d say personally that it is one of the most important things on this list,
since it will be the main reason you push through the Esports course, complete
it’s assignments, power through the units. I grade myself 2/10.

3 Review your work (at end of session or assignment) – Reviewing any kind
of work within the course that you complete gives you a very good chance to
improve on what you’ve done wrong and correct any mistakes, preventing you
from handing in a low quality piece of work. I grade myself 6/10.
4 Plan ahead – Planning ahead of time allows you to have a good idea on what
to do for your work that you’ll do in the Level 3 Course. It will greatly decrease
chances of being stuck on what to do next and allow you to gracefully ace the
work. I grade myself 5/10.

5 Be organised – Organisation makes finding things and meeting deadlines

much less of a hassle for both yourself and college staff. I grade myself 7/10.

6 Create good workday habits – Forcing yourself into certain workday habits
can potentially allow you to subconsciously create better work and improve your
skills within any of the effective working practices on this list. I grade myself 4/10.

7 Keep promises to colleagues – Being known as someone who keeps

promises allows you to be seen as trustworthy by your colleagues, meaning you
can be more relied on for tasks and improve your reputation as a student. I grade
myself 7/10.

8 Prioritise work – An example of good work prioritisation would be getting it

done as soon as possible after the task is set, so that it is out of the way and you
can in a way force yourself into the motivation to do it. I grade myself 3/10.

9 If unsure, ask – This is a very important thing to do if you want to avoid making
mistakes. It really doesn’t hurt to ask if what you’re doing is correct, so play it
safe. I grade myself 4/10

10 Maintain concentration focus – Concentration can allow you to give 100%

into a task that you are performing, and can make the work you create the best
version it can possibly be. I grade myself 8/10.

11 Watch your language – Being able to control your language within certain
environments is very helpful as it can prevent any problems and altercations. It
also strengthens your reputation as a whole. I grade myself 5/10.

12 Give positive feedback to others – Being able to deliver feedback in a

positive way allows you to connect with others in the course, as well as spread
positivity within the working environment. I grade myself 5/10.
13 Share the credit – Preventing yourself from hogging all the credit can
strengthen the bonds within your team/community and motivates more than one
person to keep pushing on. I grade myself 10/10.

14 Be a team member – Taking part in a team both improves your social and
communicational skills as well as give a helping hand to others. I grade myself
5/10.

15 Avoid complaining – Preventing the strong urge to deliver a complaint can

stop negative emotion from overtaking you which can affect both yourself and the
people around you. I grade myself 8/10.

16 Find a mentor/become a mentor – Searching for a way to learn and wanting

to teach others shows commitment and engagement. This will get you far is it
shows that your dedication is very much true. I grade myself 4/10.

17 Effective time management - Time management makes meeting deadlines,

attending classes and allowing breaks so much easier. A schedule or timetable
personally for yourself can really help when it comes to multitasking. I grade
myself 7/10.

18 Taking a short break – A short break can get you to distress and enlighten
yourself. It can also give yourself enough time to recollect your thoughts and
decide what the next action will be in creating your work. I grade myself 6/10.

19 Recognising errors or mistakes – Recognising and accepting errors and

mistakes can make you become more easy going in terms of work. It will
significantly improve your work and have you learn how to do better for next time.
I grade myself 9/10.

20 Seeing opportunities – Being able to open your eyes when it comes to

opportunities allows you to always be a step ahead so that you can improve
significantly as a result. I grade myself 4/10.
