COUNTABLE NOUNS AND UNCOUNTABLE NOUNS

1. COUNTABLE NOUNS
Countable nouns are nouns or things that can be counted in units of numbers.

Usually, objects that are included in countable nouns are solid or tangible.

countable nouns have singular and plural forms. in the singular is usually preceded

by "a" or "an".

Example sentences with countable nouns:

a. she has four clothes

b. I have two candies

c. Sinta has four apples


2.UNCOUNTABLE NOUNS

Uncountable nouns are nouns that cannot be numbered or cannot be counted.

Uncountable nouns are usually objects, abstract ideas/objects, substances, and emotions.

In the use of uncountable nouns, it can be expressed by the words some, any, a bit

of, a lot of. Some is used in positive sentences while any is used in negative sentences and

interrogative sentences.

Examples of uncountable nouns are:

a. drink a glass of water

b. give me a spoonful of sugar

c. tonight the sky is full of stars

d. need a lot of sand

So in conclusion, countable nouns are nouns that can be counted, for example, two

books. while uncountable nouns are nouns that cannot be counted or cannot be expressed

with numbers. for example in the word water there is no one of water term, but it is stated by

a glass of water.
