Chapter 3 Research Methodology
Chapter 3 Research Methodology
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
This chapter provides information about the methods that will be used in
conducting the research. It deals with the research design as well as the
population, the sampling technique and the sample size. Instruments for data
collection were all discussed under this chapter. Also the chapter took a closer
look at the way data collected were treated or analysed.
RESEARCH DESIGN
The researcher utilized the descriptive research method using quantitative
approaches in gathering information about the present condition to determine,
analyze and identify the stressors of academically inclined students in new
normal education of Purok Orchids, Cansaong, Daanlungsod, Medellin, Cebu.
Krathwohl, D. R., (2009), defined descriptive research as a purposive process in
gathering, analyzing, classifying, and tabulating data about prevailing condition,
practices, beliefs, processes, trends, and cause-effect relationships and then
making adequate and accurate interpretation about such data with or without the
aid of statistical methods. The main goal of this type of research is to describe
the data and the characteristics about what is being studied.
THE ENVIRONMENT
This study will be conducted at Purok Orchids in Cansaong, which is one
of the Purok of Barangay Daanlungsod in the municipality of Medellin.
THE SAMPLE
The principal respondent of the study will be the academically inclined
students in new normal education of Purok Orchids, Cansaong, Daanlungsod,
Medellin, Cebu. 20-30 students will be chosen as a respondent of this research
to answer the instrument that will be utilized.
Purposive sampling was used in this study, which is under non probability
sampling wherein the respondents that will be chosen are those who are related
and corresponds to the objectives of the research. The participants are selected
based on the purpose of the sample, as the name implies.
THE INSTRUMENT
The researcher will design a questionnaire with a closed ended questions
from the area of research. The questionnaires were structured carefully to avoid
respondents not getting the meaning of questions. Simple and easy words were
therefore used so that respondents will easily understand as well as answer
them. The survey questionnaire contains personal information and the next part
are the statements that were given and respondents will thick or check which
ever answer they find suitable in terms of their response to the question. In all,
total of 25 questions were given to be answered by the respondents which were
the Academically Inclined Students in Purok Orchids, Cansaong, Daanlungsod,
Medellin, Cebu.
