Social context. (Social context can influence how someone perceives something. For example, a person
who is trying a new food in an unwelcoming or harsh environment might perceive the food as tasting
bad and not like it in the future.)

War is inevitable

Political Context. (the way power is achieved and used in a country or society)

Knight armor and tools were used in a war to achieved victory and power.

Economic Context. (Economic context designates a group of contextual variables with influence in the
performance and the activity and reflects the economical situation and determines the exchange of
goods and services, money and information in the society.)

d. What were the social, political, cultural, or economic impacts of your chosen inventions?

Social Impact. One a protection in war, the other a status symbol.

Political Impact. The invention

Cultural Impact. War is a vital aspect of human history, and war is embedded in human consciousness.
Knight armor symbolizes war that is rooted in our history. It symbolizes the knights hard works and
fightings to repel invaders and to conquer lands.

Economic Impacts. It drove another round of innovation in warfare. Specialist anti-armor pole weapons
like the halberd developed so that levies could be outfitted against well-armored knights, with a hook to
unhorse and a spike to puncture armor. By the 16th century, armorers began to mass-produce
“munition armor”, cheap and effective articulated half-armor suits for infantry that could be used to
instantly outfit a town militia or mercenary company. And, of course, gunpowder weapons that would
ultimately spell doom for plate-based medieval armor began to be widely adopted from the 15th
century onward.
