Q. What is their goal to make Thailand a high-income nation, to reduce inequality, and
promote environmentally sustainable growth.

Introduction
like many nations across the world the means to develop and progress themselves through the
development of their industries and society ensures the nation’s future, with many ASEAN nations
pushing reforms and polices to generate growth within their borders, with some focusing upon
agriculture, and others the industries and markets, and some opening borders for trade and foreign
capital meant that there was no shortage of answers to the question of how to improve. Thailand has
been developing itself and its markets since the 1900s, through smart fiscal policies and investment
plans Thailand has seen a remarkable growth on its economy up to the late 1990’s where the nations
experience one of the greatest market crash in Asia, from there on Thailand sought to rebuild itself
from the fall, improving the nation’s economy and pushing upon developmental plans to rebuild was
once the nations highlights

RRL
the Thailand OS initiatives are a collective of policies and programs that are executed and made upon
by the Thai government to improve upon its Numerous industries and markets that the nations
produce, as a part of a 4 stage plan that pushes upon policies that aims to improve the quality of life
in Thailand through the means of development of industries in the nation, with the relatively new
Thailand 4.0 being a predecessor of the First 3 OS that the Thai government laid out; like patch notes
on a software it develops aspects of the country to push a positive growth, with the 1.0 saw farmer
mechanization and increased yields and investments on farmsteads so that they can live of the land ,
the 2.0 oversaw the production of cheap labor used to turn raw materials into finished goods for
production and manufacturing, such as textiles and garments as to entice foreign investors as a go to
market, and 3.0 gave the way for mechanization and increased yields of production on heavy
industries such as steel and vehicles, this one however proved to be unsustainable and has been a
cause of stagnation for Thailand’s industries. (Charlie & Pimdee, 2017; Allan, 2018)

Analysis

The Thai government’s goal on pushing the nation to progress and creating a positive growth on the
nation’s economy and market brought upon the polices and initiatives that are laid upon the nation
through a series of projects and initiatives that focuses and improved upon several Industries in the
land, cultivating a positive growth through investments into local markets and small industries and
pushing upon the modernization and assistance to the people to create change, similarly pushing
upon polices that makes the nation enticing foreign capital into the country using the local products
and labor. however beneficial, eaves room for issues of sustainability for the policies made
RRL
the ambitious goal of the Thai government's development plan 1 to 3 are parts of the groundwork that
lead up to the current 2016 Thailand development plan. at the heart of it the Thailand 4.0 projects it’s
the latest development plan of the Thai government to develop the nation even further, with the other
three focusing on the integral industries of Thailand such as agriculture and products both light and
heavy, the 4.0 project focuses on a different industry within Thailand; an industry that is growing
across the world and changes the way we interact; the industry of technology. with the 4.0 pushing
upon the innovation of new technology and creativity to push the improvement of the Quality of life in
Thailand. (Charlie & Pimdee, 2017)

Thailand 4.0 is a sector-specific vision to transform the Thai economy, pulling it out of the middle-
income trap and developing it into an innovative, dynamic, high-income country. To make this change
happen, a policy is being laid out that will move the Kingdom's economy from one that is reliant on
manufacturing existing products to one that is pioneering products of their own through research,
development, and invention. this means changes on Thailand’s services that it provides
internationally, as once a mass producer of goods such as rice and textiles which are both considered
as "high effort low output" commodities to other ventures of businesses that involves technology or
improving upon previous ones; pushing on the innovation of many industries of the country (Allan,
2018)

the main objectives that the project proposes that with the project it aims to improve and develops
Thailand’s economy, pursuing an economic prosperity and growing its economy to a degree, its
society with the projects social welfare promises, safeguarding and improving Thailand’s environment
through sustainable urban growth and the improvement of rights and human values within the nations
educational system. investing upon billion to the project the Thai government is keen to ensure that
their project is executed successfully. however, Itslef has its own risk, as with all things within the
world all has a varying risk to the situation, witan the Thai 4.0 project can pose several issues within
its own development, as the initiative itself is similar to that of china’s CHINA 2025, where a leap of
technological advancement in the tech field poses a risk with industries that does not count to the
total whole of industries that would benefit to the project (Kohpaiboon, 2020)

Analysis
as the nation began embracing the changing times that the modern world brought upon the Thai
government intends to improve on the nations capability to integrate technology into the nations
industry and society as a part of the set of polices laid upon to develop and improve the country,
giving the people the means to create, produce and manufacture their won technology incorporating
technology into the nations markets and industry as a means of improvement to the nation’s overall
quality of life; as to improve upon old traditional method to pursuer modernized means of production
by incorporating technology, but this itself can leave an issue of creating a disparity of the situation,
similar to the 3rd OS this could stagnate the growth of Thailand as many industries may have a difficult
time adapting to the changes or only a handful of industries are to benefit on this venture while the
rest are left in the dust
General Analysis

the OS Updates of Thailand’s polices and ventures dabbles upon the industries of the nations and
sought to improve upon these industries through the means of development of many aspects of the
nation, be it the production to products and even incorporating new methods and technologies,
creating new ventures and drawing new investors to improve upon the nation’s economy and quality
of life in Thailand, however, as the heart is in the right place many of these polices prove to be or will
unsustainable, with issues of coping to the capacity of the nation to integrate the changes matter to
the end result as the capability of the industries may be unable to meet standards and fall behind thus
causing a stagnation for the growth overall
