abstract/short summary of this account and answer some questions.

ABSTRACT

The Philippines was colonized by Spaniards for over 200 years or more. Because of this reason Andres
Bonifacio, create an objective to set the Philippines free from Spanish colonial rule. So he establish a
secret revolutionary society that he himself lead, and accompanied by eight provinces. Which is Manila,
Bulacan, Cavite, Pampanga, Tarlac, Laguna, Batangas, and Nueva Ecija. The eight province represent the
eight rays of sun in the Philippine flag. In August 1896 he gathered all the Katipunero in the mountain of
Balintawak to rise arms against Spain. Andres Bonifacio and the katipunero rose up and tearing their
cedula and shouted “ Long live the Philippines! Long live the Katipunan. Which is became a sign of their
termination of loyalty of Filipino from Spain. Which stated as the first Pilipino revolution act to Spain.
This event called the “Cry of Pugad Lawin”.

2. What makes this account significant to our history? (25 pts)

The tearing of cedula is the sign of termination of Filipino to Spain. The significant is that it help Filipino realize and
recognized enduring value of freedom and independence and the need to fight to prove that they are worthy of being
called a truly free people but not only the people but also the independence of the country. It also /encourage
Filipinos to help themselves and to defend the there individual freedom.

3. How relevant is this account to the present time. Cite some examples of your answer (25 pts)

The relevant is that it give Filipino the idea of being free. It gives Filipino the freedom that they deserve. For example
during these pandemic, we are free to chose if we want to get vaccinated or not . Other example is that they allow
women to vote during the election. The most important of all is that we the freedom of speech.
