The two primary principles supplement Rawls’ veil of ignorance are the liberty principle
and the equality principle. In liberty principle, the social contract should try to ensure that everyone
enjoys the maximum liberty possible without intruding upon the freedom of others. This principle
means that everyone has the same basic liberties, which can never be taken away. These include
the freedom of speech, the right to own a property, and even the freedom to travel.

The second principle of social justice concerns social and economic institutions. It is
divided into two: equality principle and difference principle. Second principle focused on equality.
It is known that a society could not avoid inequalities among its people. Inequalities result from
such things as one's inherited characteristics, social class, personal motivation, and even luck.
For instance, in an office that offers positions or jobs in both private business and public
employment, it should be open to everyone by the society providing fair equality of opportunity.
And one way for a society to do this would be to eliminate discrimination. This also means that
family background and connections should not be a factor in hiring a person. The second one is
difference principle. The social contract should guarantee that everyone has an equal opportunity
to prosper. In other words, if there are any social or economic differences in the social contract,
they should help those who are the worst off or those at the bottom of economic ladder. In a
society, the least-advantaged members of it might be unskilled individuals, earning the lowest
wages in the society. And since the goal is to provide fair equality of opportunity, any advantages
in the contract should be available to everyone.
