TYRE CLAIM MANUAL

INSPECTION PROCEDURES FOR TYRES

Procedures for investigations to be conducted when a claim has

been filed:

When a claim has been filed on a damaged tyre, investigations must

be conducted to check the degree of the damage as well as the con-
ditions under which the damaged tyre was used. If necessary, steps
should be taken to request our users to prevent the recurrence of the
same sort of damage in the future.

When a claim form has been forwarded:

Check and confirm that the form contains all important information,
such as the tyre size, ply rating, pattern, serial number, RTD (short for
remaining tread depth) and damage code.

3
Finixx Tyre

TYRE CLAIM MANUAL

1. Confirm the brand mark: Items to be checked
Check and confirm that the Tyre is a genuine Finixx Tyre.

2. Check the Tyre Size, Pattern, Ply Rating, Speed Symbol and Load Index:
Check and confirm that the tyre was correct in size, pattern, ply rating, speed Symbol and Load index for
use on the vehicle in question.

(Damage due to improper use is not acceptable for compensation )

3. Confirm DOT number:

Check the DOT number and ascertain when the tyre was manufactured.

If the DOT number has been cut out, the claim for this tyre has already been considered.

4. Measure the Tread Depth:

Remaining tread depth should be measured by our customer or sales representative.

5. Check whether the Tyre has been already recapped or repaired:

(Tyres once recapped or repaired are not acceptable for compensation. )

6. Check the Operating Conditions:

A. Tread:
If there is more wear on the shoulders than the center of the tread, the tyre was possibly used either un-
derinflated or overloaded.

Uneven wear may indicate that rotating of tyre positions had not been properly made.

If irregular wear is noted, the tyre might have been used under faulty wheel alignment, improperly-
timed rotations or incorrect inflation pressures.

Excessive wear on one of the shoulders is also attributable to the improper maintenance as mentioned
above.

4
Finixx Tyre

TYRE CLAIM MANUAL

If the tyre has many cuts and block Items to be checked
tears on its shoulders, or if the wear
pattern over the "crown" is rounded, it must have been used on rough roads.

A smooth tread surface and comparatively sharp block edges indicate that the tyre has travelled mostly
on paved roads.

B. Sidewalls and Beads

In a dual tyre assembly, check the entire surface of the sidewalls for any sign of scraping with each oth-
er.

Also, check for stones caught between the duals.

If a "Side-ring mark" is observed only in one point over the bead area, the tyre might not have been re-
mounted due to puncturing or rotating.

Cuts and cracks over the bead area show that irregular rims were applied to the tyres.

C. Inside the tyre:

-Check whether the ply cords have been damaged from under inflation or running flat.

-Check whether the ply cords have been exposed on the inner-liner caused by excessive inflation pres-
sure.

-Check whether cuts inside the tyre have been patched up.

-Check whether any foreign material has been caught between tube and tyre.

D. Position mounted:
-The revolving direction of the wheel may be known by checking the direction of the irregular wear.

-When the revolving direction is known, the mounted position can be estimated from the appearance of
the wear.

-When the revolving direction is known, the mounted position can be judged by the side-ring mark on
the bead area.
