Its ready for use when setup as indicated in this manual. General Information ‘This Calibration Standard has been designed for use as a reference transformer for checking the accuracy ofthe Megger Three-Phase TTR® (Transformer Tur Ratio Test Set) and Single-Phase TI 100). The standard is also usefl for troubleshooting and repair ofthe instrument. jon Standard is supplied with a Calibration Cerca of tums ratio accuracy traceable to NIST. NIST is unable to farnsh traceability on ratios sbowe 1000 ‘The standard is essentially 2 multwinding toroidal atotanaformer whose turns ate controlled by three decade switches and a four-step multiplex switch. The tansformer provides ratio range of 08 to 2220, ‘The standard operates on the principle that the voltage ratio ofa transformer at 10 load is almost exactly equal tothe true tur rato. The major source of eros the primaty impedance drop due to the magnetizing current. High precisi are achieved by using a toroidal core ‘of high permeability, by making the resistance of the exciting winding low, 2nd by use of essentially null- balance comparison techniques.
