Nicean Creed:

All: I BELIEVE IN ONE GOD, THE FATHER ALMIGHTY, MAKER OF HEAVEN AND
EARTH OF ALL THINGS VISIBLE AND INVISIBLE. I BELIEVE IN ONE LORD JESUS
CHRIST, THE ONLY BEGOTTEN SON OF GOD, BORN OF THE FATHER BEFORE
ALL AGES. GOD FROM GOD, LIGHT FROM LIGHT, TRUE GOD FROM TRUE
GOD, BEGOTTEN, NOT MADE, CONSUBSTANTIAL WITH THE FATHER;
THROUGH HIM ALL THINGS WERE MADE. FOR US MEN AND FOR OUR
SALVATION HE CAME DOWN FROM HEAVEN, (At the words that follow, up
to and including “and became man,” all bow.)
AND BY THE HOLY SPIRIT WAS INCARNATE OF THE VIRGIN MARY, AND
BECAME MAN.
FOR OUR SAKE HE WAS CRUCIFIED UNDER PONTIUS PILATE, HE SUFFERED
DEATH AND WAS BURIED, AND ROSE AGAIN ON THE THIRD DAY IN
ACCORDANCE WITH THE SCRIPTURES. HE ASCENDED INTO HEAVEN AND IS
SEATED AT THE RIGHT HAND OF THE FATHER. HE WILL COME AGAIN IN
GLORY TO JUDGE THE LIVING AND THE DEAD AND HIS KINGDOM WILL
HAVE NO END.
I BELIEVE IN THE HOLY SPIRIT, THE LORD, THE GIVER OF LIFE, WHO
PROCEEDS FROM THE FATHER AND THE SON, WHO WITH THE FATHER AND
THE SON IS ADORED AND GLORIFIED, WHO HAS SPOKEN THROUGH THE
PROPHETS.
I BELIEVE IN ONE, HOLY, CATHOLIC AND APOSTOLIC CHURCH. I CONFESS

PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL

Initao College Graduation Liturgy ‘22 page 5

Celebrant: Graduation is an end and beginning. It celebrates what was
accomplished and welcomes another stage of life. Let us pray that
God may continue to teach us the true meaning of love.
In every petition, we say:

CHRIST, GRACIOUSLY HEAR US.

1. Lord, we pray for those in authority in the Church, Pope Francis, bishops, priests
and lay and religious that they may lead in the spirit of the Apostles, and not make
life unnecessarily difficult for those who seek God. Let us pray to the Lord…

2. Lord, we pray for the newly-elected leaders of our country that they may dedicate
themselves with integrity and zeal to the task of leading our people together
towards human and economic development, let us pray to the Lord…

3. Lord, we pray for the local government unit of Initao to strengthen them with
wisdom and grace for the heavy burdens they carry. May they manage their
teams and projects with love. Keep their hearts pure and their eyes turned toward
your face as they work in the best interests of the people they are called to serve.

4. Lord, we pray for our beloved Alma Mater, Initao College, the administrators and
personnel that they may continue to share their talents and abilities in educating
and journeying the young according to gospel values, let us pray to the Lord…

5. Lord, we pray for our students that may they grow in grace and wisdom. In areas
where there is a lack, provide them knowledge, understanding, counsel, and
fortitude. Keep them safe from all illnesses and protect them from all harm.

6. Lord, we pray for the graduating students that you will give them direction,
purpose, and perseverance as they enter the next phase of their lives. Give them
clearness of mind to move forward into the plans and purposes that You have for
them. May these young people gain wisdom from You and have discernment for
proper behaviour.

7. Lord, we pray for our beloved parents and guardians who take care of us. May
they continue to receive your blessing and guidance as they raise us, their children
with Christian values and ideals, let us pray to the Lord…

8. Lord, we pray for the poor, the sick and the victims of calamities. Grant that they
may learn to unite their difficulties and suffering of Christ, let us pray to the Lord…

9. Lord, may all who died, our loved ones and those who have no one to remember
them, may they enjoy the eternal consolation in your heavenly kingdom, let us
pray to the Lord…
Initao College Graduation Liturgy ‘22 page 6
Celebrant: Heavenly Father, you are the source of knowledge and wisdom. Inspire all
educators and learners to strengthen their pursuit of proper education
and finally become agents of transformation in our society with the
example of Jesus Christ, your Son with the Holy Spirit forever and ever.
Amen.

OFFERTORY PROCESSION
Offertory (to be sung)

(Prayer for Generosity)

Dearest Lord, teach me to be generous
Teach me to serve You as I should
To give and not to count the cost
To fight and not to heed the wounds
To toil and not to seek for rest
To labor and ask not for reward
Save that of knowing that I do Your most holy will

(Christify)
Christify the gifts we bring to You,
bounty of the earth receive anew.
Take and bless the work of our hands.
Christify these gifts at Your command.

Sun and moon and earth and wind and rain:

all the world's contained in every grain.
All the toil and dreams of humankind,
all we are we bring as bread and wine.

Turn the bread and wine, our hearts implore,

to the living presence of the Lord.
Blessed and broken, shared with all in need;
all our hungers, sacred bread will feed.

With this bread and wine You Christify,

now our deepest thirst You satisfy.
We who by this bread You sanctify
draw the world for You to Christify.

OPENING DIALOGUE

Celebrant: The Lord be with you.

All: And with your Spirit.

Celebrant: Lift up your hearts.

ALL: We lift them up to the Lord.

Celebrant: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.

ALL: It is right and just.

Celebrant: It is truly right and just, our duty and salvation, always and everywhere to
give you thanks. Father most holy, through your beloved Son, Jesus
Christ, your Word through whom you made all things, whom you sent as
our Savior and Redeemer, incarnate by the Holy Spirit and born of the
Virgin. Fulfilling your will and gaining for you a holy people, he stretched
out his hands as he endured his Passion, so as to break the bonds of
death and manifest the resurrection. And so, with the Angels and all
Saints we declare your glory, as with one voice we acclaim:

HOLY/SANCTUS (to be sung) (Holy, Holy, Holy Lord God of Host)

(Holy, Holy, Holy)
Holy, Holy, Holy
Lord God of hosts.
Heaven and earth are full of your glory,
full of your glory.

Hosanna in the highest.

Hosanna in the highest.

Blessed is he who comes in the name

of the Lord.

Hosanna in the highest.

Hosanna in the highest.
Celebrant: You are indeed Holy, O Lord, the fount of all holiness. Make holy, therefore,
these gifts, we pray, by sending down your Spirit upon them like the dewfall, so that
they may become for us the Body and Blood of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

At the time he was betrayed and entered willingly into his Passion, he took bread and,
giving thanks, broke it, and gave to his disciples, saying:

Initao College Graduation Liturgy ‘22 page 9

TAKE THIS, ALL OF YOU, AND EAT OF IT: FOR THIS IS MY BODY WHICH WILL BE GIVEN
UP FOR YOU.
In a similar way, when supper was ended, he took the chalice and, once more giving
thanks, he gave it to his disciples, saying:
TAKE THIS, ALL OF YOU, AND DRINK FROM IT: FOR THIS IS THE CHALICE OF MY BLOOD,
THE BLOOD OF THE NEW AND ETERNAL COVENANT, WHICH WILL BEPOURED OUT FOR
YOU AND FOR MANY FOR THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS. DO THIS IN MEMORY OF ME.

E U C H A R I S T I C P R A Y E R II

Celebrant: The mystery of faith.

Eucharistic Acclamation: (to be sung) (Dying you destroy our death)

Dying you destroyed our death,
Rising you restored our life
Lord Jesus (2) come in glory.

Celebrant: Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial of his Death and Resurrection, we

offer you, Lord, the Bread of life and the Chalice of salvation, giving thanks that you have
held us worthy to be in your presence and minister to you.
Humbly we pray that, partaking of the Body and Blood of Christ, we may be gathered
into one by the Holy Spirit.
Remember, Lord, your Church, spread throughout the world, and bring her to the
fullness of charity, together with Francis, our Pope, Jose, our Bishop, and all the clergy.
Remember also our brothers and sisters who have fallen asleep in the hope of the
resurrection and all who have died in your mercy: welcome them into the light of your
face. Have mercy on us all, we pray, that with the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God,
with the blessed Apostles, and all the Saints who have pleased you throughout the ages,
we may merit to be co-heirs to eternal life, and may praise and glorify you through your
Son, Jesus Christ.
Through him, and with him, and in him,
O God, Almighty Father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and honor is yours, for
ever and ever.

All: Amen (to be sung)

I am your reed, sweet shepherd, glad to be
Now if you will, breathe out your joy in me
And make bright songs or fill me
With the soft moan of your love
When your delight has failed
To call or move your flock from wrong

Make children songs or any song to fill

Your reed with breath of life
But at your will
Lay down the flute and take repose
While music infinite
Is silence in our heart
And laid on it you reed is mute

TRIBUTE TO PARENTS
Commentator: The parents play an important role in encouraging and motivating
their children to learn. Helping their children discover their skills, abilities,
and interests, while learning about their strengths and weaknesses.
Helping their children consider career or educational options instead of
pushing them into pursuing what is socially acceptable or economically
rewarding. Guiding them into making good decisions concerning
employability, career advancements etc. Continue encouraging their
children to achieve what they have decided on by providing continuous
support and resources.
To pay tribute to their parents, the candidates for graduation will sing
“Glowing Inside” May we request the candidates to please rise.
