ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
Bismillahhirrahmanirrahim...
At the very outset, I am very much thankful to almighty Allah S.W.T. for giving me strength,
courage and ability to accomplish the internship program as well as the internship report
in a scheduled time in spite of various complications. It gives me immense pleasure to
thank a large number of individuals for their cordial cooperation and encouragement
which has contributed directly or indirectly in preparing this report.
Moreover, I must show my gratitude to my supervisor of Power Steps Sdn. Bhd., Y.M. Raja
Mohamed Faliq Raja Adam who willingly took my responsibility and gave me lot of time
and shared his working experiences with me. His guidance showed me a way not only to
understand the office culture but also how to deal with all the co-workers of the
organization and meet the client demands with great team-work.
I would also like to express my sincere thanks to all the employees of Power Steps Sdn.
Bhd. who helped me during my work tenure and made my experience an unforgettable
one. People from these departments helped me to gain more practical knowledge which
made my Internship journey more meaningful.

It is important to learn different types of skills, such as from learning to communicate
and deal with customers and suppliers, to handling and monitoring different types of
work or program.
I learned that customer service is hard. You cannot please everyone. There are people in
this world that are simply difficult and I cannot stress over little things that will not get
me anywhere.
By asking questions, I will get the answers. Therefore, never be afraid to ask questions
because internships are supposed to be learning experience, which nobody expected
me to know everything.
I realize that observation is a main element to find out the root cause of a problem. Not
only for my project but daily activities too. Observations help me to learn
independently, discipline myself, be considerate, self-trust, take initiative and able to
solve problems.
I would like to once again appreciate everyone who has made my industrial training a
superb experience.

COMPANY'S ANALYSIS
SWOT ANALYSIS DIAGRAM
Every business may have to identify those factors that can influence or have an impact on the viability
of the organization. To achieve this, SWOT analysis, a method that pinpoints and analyzes the internal
and external factors should be conducted, which can later be use in developing strong business
strategies to help the organization improve and grow.
The first two of these, weaknesses and strengths are frequently internal-related, whereas threats and
opportunities commonly concentrate on the business’s external environment that are all over,
happening in the marketplace. The SWOT analysis of PSSB analyses the internal capabilities of PSSB
(strengths and weaknesses) as well as the external environment (opportunities and threats).
Below is the SWOT analysis diagram for PSSB. The details of each element will be further discussed in
the next chapter of this report.

WEAKNESSES
1.SEGMENTED COMMUNITY EXCLUDE OTHER POSSIBLE MARKETS
PSSB has limited target market where most of its customers are Malays, be it the buyers of
its products or the clients of its services and even the students who enroll in its music
classes. Identifying a target market helps company to develop effective marketing
communication strategies. A target market is a set of individuals sharing similar needs or
characteristics that company hopes to serve. These individuals are usually the end users
most likely to purchase company product. It is no doubt that most of the Non-Malays have
more interest in the music industry compared to Malays. PSSB also located in Malay
community area which make it a bit harder for PSSB to reach other possible markets
especially the Non-Malays.

1 Business Digitalization
To give an idea, PSSB may consider additional cloud-based technologies to complement its
offerings to clients and customers. Embracing the new normal in performing the business,
which is the absence of face-to-face interactions with clients and customers, PSSB may
require a secure and compliant service for delivering digital documents to them. Take it on
the positive side, COVID-19 is actually a game changer for digital transformation and PSSB
must not be left behind!
Since PSSB business already has an e-commerce component (Shopee, Lazada and Mudah),
PSSB can remind customers that they can still shop for their favorite items on those
platforms. It might even help to offer a coupon or discount to encourage online shopping
while customers are staying home anyway. These strategies are crucial, especially in this
period of social distancing in the new normal. It is recommended for PSSB to double its
commitments to these strategies during the MCO to let its customers know that PSSB is
always here for them!

MGT666 - Industrial Training Report
Noor Adlina binti Rashid (2019717535)
Let's start with preparing a communication plan since we can never communicate too
much during a crisis. The communication plan should target PSSB's employees, customers
and suppliers. What PSSB can do is to carefully craft a clear and concise message, schedule
regular updates and optimize technology to send messages to customers. Put someone
who can be trusted in charge of doing this. It is a very important job. Imagine when they
talk about the promotion, they indirectly become company marketing agents. They spread
the word of mouth, and this results in more customers.

Competition exists in every market. Smarter companies nullify the effect of competitors in
order to increase their market share. To become a successful business, a company need to
find ways to stay a step ahead of its competition. However, doing so is often easier said
than done, and there is no simple answer on how to beat competition. There are several
strategies PSSB should be using to ensure that the company can stay ahead of its
competitors. One likely way to beat the competition is to identify and address the needs of
shared target audience better than the competition can.

CHAPTER SEVEN
- CONCLUSION
26
MGT666 - Industrial Training Report
Noor Adlina binti Rashid (2019717535)
CONCLUSION
In a nutshell, this internship has been an excellent and rewarding experience. I can
conclude that there have been a lot I have learnt from my work at Power Steps Sdn. Bhd.
(PSSB). The analysis on the PSSB's strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT)
clearly show clear picture on how PSSB is operating its businesses. Based upon the SWOT
analysis, I can conclude that PSSB is yet to operate with its maximum capacity. With its
wide range of products and services, PSSB actually has a bright future,
Being the only Bumiputera company in the industry who has strong, healthy relationship
with the best suppliers give PSSB advantage to gain better value for the business. However,
PSSB may need to review other possible markets for its businesses. Apart from that, PSSB
might want to dig more on how to stay connected with its clients due to limited flexibility
in business operation caused by MCO. Proper marketing plan which includes marketing
activities and promotional efforts are also important for PSSB to continue to drive revenues
and sales in the absence of face-to-face interactions with clients. PSSB should embrace
innovative marketing platforms and technologies in order to remain resilient during
unexpected situation.
Embracing the new normal requires incentives and appropriate policies. Thus, various
incentives and assistance programs have been proposed by the Government for small and
medium enterprises (SMEs) and entrepreneurs to keep their business afloat amid the
economic fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic. Hence, PSSB must grab this opportunities
and must be able to utilize the incentives efficiently to achieve greater competitiveness.
Running a business can be extremely difficult due to sheer number of competitors
currently on the market. It is essential, therefore, for PSSB and its business to stay ahead of
the competition so that it can grow and compete against the giants of its industry.
Although my findings are still rudimentary, I hope my recommendations can be useful for
PSSB to survive in its competitive market and to go further in the industry.
On another note, my five (5) months period of practical training allows me to have clear
view on roles and responsibility besides gaining improvement on communications,
interpersonal and other soft skills. Most importantly, I was exposed to the "peak-and-valley"
life of a young entrepreneur which affects me directly in keeping myself to stay motivated
to succeed. I can honestly say that my time spent interning with this company resulted in
one of the best part of my life. Not only did I gain practical skills but I also had the
opportunity to meet many fantastic people. The atmosphere at PSSB was always
welcoming which made me feel right at home. Everyone in PSSB is much more like family
to me now. Overall, my internship at PSSB has been a success. I was able to gain practical
skills, work in a fantastic environment, and make connections that will last a lifetime.
I could not be more thankful.
