CENTRIFUGAL SEPARATORS
Inlet
WORKING PRINCIPLE :
Outlet
SCI
MODEL
PRINCIPLE :
Driven by the inlet pressure, liquid with particles is accelerated through
tangential slots/holes towards the centre of the separator.
By the rotation of the liquid, a vortex is formed in the centre of the separator
and by the centrifugal force a separation of heavy particles takes place.
Separated particles are accumulated in the bottom collection chamber and
are then periodically evacuated.
ADVANTAGES:
Centrifugal separators have no moving parts and no filter elements, screens,
bags or cartridges and have therefore a number of advantages compared to
conventional filtration methods:
SPECIFICATIONS :
3 3
1. Flow range : SCV models 0.7 – 65 m /h, SCI models 65 – 2700 m /h.
For higher flow rates, mounting of separators in parallel is possible.
2. Pressure loss range : 0.3 – 0.9 bar.
3. Material of constructions : Carbon steel, stainless steel 304 L or 316 L
standard. Other materials on request : for instance carbon steel
separators with epoxy coating or separators manufactured in uranium or
duplex stainless steel.
4. Liquid pressure - temperatures : Min. 1 bar; max. 12 bar for standard
SCV models at ambient temperature. At 90° C, max 10 bar.
For SCI units, min. 1 bar, max. generally 10 bar at max. 80° C.
Separators for higher pressures/temperatures available. Consult factory.
5. Connections: the SCV series, up to and including SCV 1423 D, threaded
BSPM. Larger SCV models – DIN PN 16;
the SCI series – DIN PN 10.
6. Our separators are manufactured in conformity to European Directive
97/23/CEE and to CODAP procedures. Separators designed and
manufactured according to norms like ASME, TÜV, etc available on
request.
7. Approximate working conditions :
Min. difference in density between particles and liquid : 20%.
Max. viscosity of liquid : 3°E or 22 centistokes.
Max. concentration of particles : Depending on actual case, 1% by
volume. Consult factory for high concentrations.
