The First Revelation describes how the Prophet Muhammad first received revelation from the angel Jibreel in the cave of Hira. Jibreel appeared to Muhammad in the form of a man and suffocated him, instructing him to read before revealing the first verses of Surah Alaq. Muhammad was frightened and went home, where his wife Khadija consoled him. The next day, they went to see Muhammad's cousin Waraqah, a Christian scholar, who confirmed that Muhammad had been chosen as Allah's prophet and the visitor was the angel Jibreel.

The Holy Prophet PBUH used to go to the cave of Hira to meditate.
He used to think about the social crimes and about the creator of the whole world. One day when he was meditating, he met angel Jibreel in the form of an ordinary man. Angel Jibreel came close to him and suffocated him. The first time he said the Holy Prophet PBUH to read, Holy Prophet PBUH said that he couldn’t, the same happened the next time. At last, when Angel Jibreel asked the question, the Holy Prophet PBUH said that what should I read. At that moment, the first 5 verses of Surah-e-Alaq were revealed. The Holy Prophet came rushing back to his home and when he reached his home he was shivering with fright. Hazrat Khadija RA consoled him and listened to the whole situation. Next day Holy Prophet PBUH and Hazrat Khadija RA went to one of Hazrat Khadija RA’s cousin whose name was Warqah bin Nofil. He was a scholar of his time and was of a very old age. After listening to the whole situation, he told the Holy Prophet that he had been selected as the Prophet of Allah. He also told that the man was Angel Jibreel who had been giving revelations from Allah to the previous Prophets. After that the Holy Prophet PBUH did not get any other revelation for 40 days. This period was none as Fitrah Tul Waihee.
The compilation of the Holy Quran was a difficult mission. Holy
Prophet S asked his companions to memorize the holy Quran and he wrote them on scribes. In a few battles, most of the Huffaz of the Holy Quran had died this led to the loss of the Quranic parts. Hazrat AbuBakr was worried about it. He asked the memorizers to memorize the holy quran as well as write it down and arrange it.
