The given line graph shows changes in the umber of
fish and varieties of meat consumed in a European
country from 1974 to 2004. Overall, the consumption of beef, lamb and fish show downward trends while the opposite is true for chicken consumption during the 25 years time, starting from 1979. In 1974, highest amount of beef was consumed, up to 220 grams before dropping to 100grams in 2004. Meanwhile, the consumption of chicken, lamb and fish are 145, 150 and 60 grams respectively. It is worth mentioning that chicken and lamb are both consumed by 148 grams in 1980. Since then, consumption of chicken go beyond that of lamb which makes chicken more populate than meat, arriving at 245 grams. Comparing to the steady changes of fish consumption, beef consumption seemed more dramatic. Data of beef peaked at 240 grams which was witnessed in 1984. Then, the amount of beef declined considerably by 140 grams in 2004. By contrast, the consumption of fish only decreased by 10 grams between 1979 and 2004.
