The 4 public laws that I chose are Republic Act 3573, Republic Act 1082, Republic Act 7160,

Presidential
Decree No. 856

Republic Act 3573, is an act of providing for the prevention and suppression of dangerous
communicable diseases and for other purposes. This law widely affects the community health nursing
practice in a way that the local or rural areas is very susceptible to numerous communicable diseases.
This republic act permits all the community health care providers to easily detect potential endemic to
occur and to be able to control and prevent it from relapsing.

Republic Act 1082, Employment of More Health Personnel in Rural Areas (Rural Health Unit Act). More
healthcare professional such as physicians, nurses, midwives and sanitary inspector will be assigned in
the local or rural areas. At this point, more opportunities for the locals to raise their health conditions,
consequently, it will help lower the rate of incidence of preventable diseases in general. However, this
republic act also provides healthcare workers to maximize their full potential and skills in terms of public
health and to be able fulfill to the rights to health of every people in the community.

Republic Act 7160, also known as Local Government Code of 1991, it aims to provide for a more
responsive and accountable local government structure instituted through a system of decentralization.
Basically, collaboration between health workers and LGU’s, this law will make the essential healthcare
and other services universally accessible to individuals and families who are living in a remote or far-
flung areas through their full participation and at cost that the community can afford at every stage of
development.

Presidential Decree No. 856, also known as Code of Sanitation. It aims to provide for the control of all
factors in man's environment that could affect health. These include water quality, food, milk, control of
insects, animal carriers, transmitters of diseases, sanitary and recreation facilities, noise, pollution,
unpleasant odors, and management of nuisance. In order to prevent or control the occurrence of
diseases the community must foresee that the environment should be clean constantly, especially in the
rural areas which is susceptible to various diseases. As what the Florence nightingale have said that the
our environment is the most essential facet of our nursing practice.
