Los Angeles Court Orders Brian Delino & Big Daddy Formals to Pay Nearly

$20,000 in Formal Builder Vs. Big Daddy Lawsuit

Formal Builder looks for Big Daddy Formals clients to help with additional litigation

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA, JULY 20, 2022 – Formal Builder recently won a judgment
in a Los Angeles Central District Court against a former employee accused of multiple crimes,
including embezzlement and fraud. The company brought the suit as it learned many of its
clients were duped into sending the accused money that enriched his own pockets.

The suit was filed against Brian Delino and Big Daddy Formals, alleging he was guilty of
embezzlement by concealment, conversion and international interference. The company, in its
court filing, wrote Delino created a fake Venmo account and had clients wire him money directly
into his bank account.

According to Formal Builder, Delino deceived fraternity chapters of thousands of dollars for his
own personal gain. The company said the plot for this illegal scheme began while Delino was
employed with Formal Builder, where he allegedly stole trade secrets that included poaching
client lists and intellectual property such as processes and procedures.

The Los Angeles Central District Court has ordered Delino and Big Daddy Formals to pay
$19,737.50. The court also ordered the defendants to pay the $120 filing fee for the Anti-SLAPP
motion.

Formal Builder CEO and Founder Mike Olivas said it was unfortunate that an employee and
friend for many years decided to kick the company when it was suffering during the pandemic.
He said, for every company, the biggest challenge facing them was the pandemic, and Delino’s
actions during employment made it even more difficult.

Olivas contends that Delino and Big Daddy Formals duped clients into believing they had
conducted over 2,000 formals and had 20 years of experience in the industry. He is
recommending prospective clients of Big Daddy Formals and Delino to read the case’s full
description before moving forward with their business.

Olivas said, “Brian’s premeditated plan to commit these actions months in advanced, while still
employed with us shows his true character. I view this judgment as a very small win for now, but
Brian will likely continue to suffer financial losses in this case along with his professional and
personal credibility.”

Formal Builder, which is a pioneer in organizing Greek Formals across the nation, and is the
industry-leading formal planning service that offers all-inclusive packages for Greek
organizations, is asking for assistance from current and former Big Daddy Formals and Delino
clients to come forward and be a witness for an ongoing litigation.

Any fraternity that has paid money to Delino or Big Daddy Formals are likely to be subject to the
litigation and an accounting of the funds Delino owes the company.
