REPLACING THE E-BOX MODULES STEP 1. EMPTY MBR TANK ET002 1. Before commencing the emptying of the MBR tank ensure, on the control panel, that all pump control switches, ‘except the MBR tank air blower EB001 are in the "OFF" position. 2. Empty the equalizing tank ETO01 to make enough room to pump the contents of the MBR tank ET002 into the equalizing tank: + Tum the motor three-way valve ECVOO1 on the control panel to sludge recycling position (switch to indicate *CIRC’) + Make sure that the valve EV039 is open. Close valve EV013 and turn the 3-way valve EV009 to the discharge position. + Run the sludge removal pump EPO06 manually from the control panel unti the equalizing tank is empty. 3. Stop the ftration operation by closing the shut-off valves EVO1S to 18 and tur off the air blower E8001 4, Move the sludge from the MBR tank to the equalizing tank to empty the MBR tank: + Switch on the equalizing tank air blower EB002 manually from the control panel. + Close the valve EV039 in the equalizing tank discharge line at the bottom of the tank. + Open valve EV013 in the MBR tank bottom discharge line. + Tum the motor three-way valve ECVO001 on the control panel to sludge return position (Switch $09 to indicate “RETURN’). c + Turn the valve EV009 towards the equalizing tank (ports 1-2 open). + Run the sludge removal pump EPO06 until the MBR tank is empty. ‘STEP 2. REMOVE OLD MEMBRANE MODULES: 1. Before opening the MBR service hatch, wash down the tank internals through the top hatch to remove the sludge that has adhered to the door and to the tank walls and the pH-sensor. 2. Remove the pH-sensor QE001 and put the sensor head into a container of clean water. 3, Empty rinsing water in the equalizing tank by using pump EP006 manually from the control panel. You will hear ‘when the pump is starting to suck air. Stop the pump. 4. Open the membrane tank access hatch on the side of the MBR unit, Collect all nuts and washers and retain, 58, Remove sewage water from the bottom of the MBR tank by using a small pump or external vacuum system. ‘no mainos thera ona trator hi opostcaten witout pornaion Scare OF als seed A Date: 23 Jan 2016 0038285] * INSTALLATION 6555650 | MEMBRANE MODULE E-BOX 2, (FOR MBR UNITS 6545260 - 6545273) 6555583 | MEMBRANE MODULE E-BOX 2, (FOR MBR UNITS 6549370 - 6549377) If neither is available use @ hand bailing system Clean the tank until the bottom plate is clearly visible. Use clean rinsing water to keep the sludge moving. Enter the tank. 6. Disconnect the flexible air hoses installed on the membrane module casings. A knife may be used to cut off the old hoses. New hoses are included in the delivery of the new membrane panels. Disconnect the effluent output lines from the tank wall connections, 7. Unlock the captive quick release clips on the top of the membrane casing frame. | 8. Lift up the membrane casing frame from the locating pins on the MBR tank floor and remove the membrane casing frame from the MBR tank. Collect the rubber feet from the bottom of the MBR tank Disconnect the effluent line bottom flexible hose from the blue permeste header box and retain Undo the retaining bolts from the stifening strips | _ from both sides of the front ofthe membrane casing Loosen the side retaining bolts to allow movement of the membrane cartridge unit. Carefully pull the membrane cartridge unit out from the membrane module's casing STEP 3. CLEAN UP THE PERMEATE LINE 1. Rinse all effluent from the permeate line. Remove permeate line for cleaning if membranes were broken. 2. Feed clean water to the permeate line through the cend-caps in the line to enable the cleaning of the in- line sight glasses. Also use the membrane washing valve £V020 to rinse all ditt from the pipeline. 3, Valve EV019 must also be thoroughly cleaned and when completed this valve must be tumed to the “closed position. ‘STEP 4. CLEANING OF THE EFFLUENT TANK 1. Use pump EP003 operated from the control panel to empty as much of the contents of the effluent tank as possible and then insert a container under the bottom drain plug. Open the drain plug to allow the remaining water to empty. 2.Open the effluent tank cover. A new membrane-is more easily installed into the frame When the frame is rotated onto its side and ‘the ‘module inserted from the top. 1 NOTE: When installing the new membrane module, make sure that the lower membrane effluent connection is plugged with the plug included in the delivery of the new E-box. I NOTE: Handle the membrane cartridge with extreme care. Do not damage the membrane surface by striking with a sharp object or by rubbing with hard materials. I NOTE: When cleaning the membrane cartridge outside of the bioreactor tank don't expose the membrane cartridge to the atmosphere for any period that could enable the membrane panels to dry out. In thé event of a membrane panel drying out contact Evac Oy for further advice 2. Fasten rubber feet with cable ties to the E-Box bottom to aid installation. 3. Install rear membrane rack into the tank. 4. Attach the stiffening strips and tighten all the bolts on the membrane module casing. 5. Reattach the flexible permeate line to the blue permeate header box. 6. Place the membrane casing frame onto the locating pins on the MBR tank floor. 7. Connect the effluent output line to the tank wall connection. 8. Connect the air supply hoses to the aerators. 9. Lock the captive quick release clips on the top of the membrane casing frame. Instalithe new membranes, starting from the rear of the MBR unit and work forward. Test the steadiness of the assembly of each module. ‘2G ames hei mata sraara i apatenin wot pra, @ 6555650 6555583 10. Refit and secure the membrane tank access hatch on the side of the MBR unit. STEP 6. CALIBRATE AND INSTALL THE pH SENSOR 1. Wah pH-sensor head with a pH7 liquid and submerge it into clean pH7 liquid, 2. Check accuracy of the ph sensor and calibrate it if required. If there is a control knobs for pH adjustment, sett to 7 while within the pH7 liquid. Otherwise you will need pH7 and pH liquid for calibration, First, immerse the probe into the 7 pH liquid, then "press Yes’. Weit Until the value 4-figure is stabilized, then “Press Yes" Now move the probe into the pH liquid and wait until the value has stabilized, then “Press Yes’. The sensor is now calibrated, 3. Assemble the pH-sensor back into place. STEP 7. REFILL THE MBR TANK 1. Ensure that the valve EV009 is returned to the position Where port 1-2 is open. 2. Open the valve EV039 and close the valve EVO13. 3. Start filing the MBR tank using the MBR feeding pump EP0O1 until the water level-reaches the high level switch in the MBR tank. Observe the water levels in the equalizing and MBR tank from the top of the tank, 4. Start the air blower EB001. 5. Open valve EV013, 6. Set the switches on the control panel back to their normal positions as described in the Evac MBR user's manual section "Operation - 7.3” 1 NOTE: The E-Box 2 membranes require a lower operating air pressure.
