Module 3, Assignment

From the two videos for this module, choose five tips, which you consider are best to follow
when preparing for an ICT- assisted lecture in class. Defend your choices in a paragraph.

During these times of crisis, we ought to find ways that could help survive and get through the
day even though hardships are present. However, with the help of modern technology, all the aspects of
our life became easier. More specifically, the learning process became more complicated. Nevertheless,
ICT-assisted lectures in class became more convenient for every student and teachers, especially
without the presence of face-to-face classes.

Teachers, as well as the students, are now exerting more efforts in order to teach and to learn.
However, some does not know how to conduct this kind of lecture properly. Therefore, from the video I
have watched, I chose the best five tips, which I consider the best to follow when preparing for an ICT-
assisted lecture in class.

First is to have enough confidence. Most lecturers lack the confidence to teach in front of many
students. They tend to get nervous and could not express the ideas that they have properly. I think that
confidence is one of the most important assets that people should have in order to express themselves
freely. When teaching, I believe that the lecturer must have the confidence to face his or her students to
educate them effectively.

Another tip for the lecturers is that they must ask questions to make audience use their
inquisitive minds and be creative in making their answers. They will be more cooperative with the
lecturer in the learning process. Next is to tell stories to the audience or students. The students will most
likely feel bored and not interested if all they see are plain texts and images without any interactions. By
telling stories, the audience will feel excitement and interest to learn and listen to the lecturer with his
or her ICT-assisted lecture. Moreover, the lecturer must also have good rapport. Building good rapport
with the audience will make them more alive during the discussion. Their sleepiness and boredom will
be washed away. Even with ICT-assisted lectures, the actual communication between the speaker and
the audience is still the thing that matters the most in the learning process, so the cooperation of the
audience will still be required. Ultimately, I think the best tip to consider is to make the presentation
easy to understand. The lecturer must make sure that his or her presentation fits his or her audience in
order for the audience to understand what is being taught easily.
