The Integration of Technology in Education

New options for teaching and learning are made possible by the rise of
technology integration. Let us capitalize this advantage in our teaching work
which really provides a new avenue for improving the learning environment for
both teachers and students, making it more participatory and fruitful. DepEd
exhorts educators to create technologically enhanced lessons that cover
curricular content and improve teaching abilities. As a result, an increasing
number of teachers are now exposing themselves to the technological
advancements that can complement their teaching abilities. Additionally, the
effective use of technology in the classroom contributes significantly to a rise in
teacher effectiveness and productivity.

Republic Act No. 10912, otherwise known as the Continuing Professional Development
Act of 2016, was passed to institute measure that will continuously improve the
competence of Filipino professionals and to make them attuned to the development and
advancements in their chosen field.
Continuing professional development (CPD) means that professionals participate in
learning activities to further improve the quality of their learning and develop their abilities
and to update their learning continuously. It enables them to set goals and work to
achieve them, so going above and beyond any initial training. "It’s the means by which
you can maintain and enhance your knowledge and skills to complement both your
current role and your future career progression".
DepEd fully supports the continuing professional development of its teaching personnel
based on the principle of lifelong learning and the view of the teaching profession as
one that “requires teachers expert knowledge and specialized skills, acquired and
maintained through rigorous and continuing study”.

The term "continuous professional development" (CPD) refers to the learning activities
that teaching and non teaching personnel professionals engage in to continuously
update their knowledge, enhance their skills, and improve the quality of their learning.
They can set and strive toward goals thanks to it, going above and beyond any initial
training. It's a way for you to keep up with and improve your knowledge and abilities so
they can support both your current position and potential future career advancement.
Based on the idea of lifelong learning and the idea that the teaching profession "needs
teachers excellent knowledge and specialized abilities, gained and maintained through
rigorous and continual study," DepEd actively supports the ongoing professional
development of its teaching staff.
