Task
Mark and Janet are making soup This task will require you to find : y how much soup they will need to make , AND y how much paper they will need for labels as well as y how much cardboard they will need for the boxes

Background Information
Mark and Janet are making soup. They are using a large saucepan which is 20 cm deep and has a radius of 40 cm.

Apply measurement will involve using a range of methods solving problems, demonstrating knowledge of measurement concepts and terms, and communicating solutions which would usually require only one or two steps. Relational thinking will involve one or more of: y selecting and carrying out a logical sequence of steps y connecting different concepts and representations y demonstrating understanding of concepts y forming and using a model, and relating findings to a context, or communicating thinking using

3 correct calculations examples - volume of can (any units) - surface area for box -surface area for label -volume of pot -no. of cans per box with 3 Appropriate units, for example, volume are mm or 3 cm must be supplied in at least two calculations and a clear identification as to what is being calculated. .

. A logical sequence of steps must be followed and correct working shown. At least 2 correct SA calculations and 2 volume calculations Correctly calculated 1 of -volume of soup -amount of paper for labels -amount of cardboard for the boxes Clear identification as to what is being calculated (statements) Logical sequence of steps communicated
