Environmental Health
A healthy body can be obtained from exercising regularly,
consuming nutritious food, and a healthy and clean environment. A
healthy environment sometimes we don't pay attention to because
we are busy at work so that the surrounding environment is not kept
clean. As a result of an unhealthy environment can cause various
diseases, one of which is worrying is dengue fever (DHF) because it
can cause death.
Environmental health is very important to be maintained together
and there must be awareness from every community from all walks
of life how important and valuable environmental health is.
Environmental Health Goals and Scope
The objectives and scope of environmental health can be divided
into two, in general and in particular.
The objectives and scope of environmental health in general,
among others:
1. Make corrections or improvements to all hazards and threats to
the health and welfare of human life.
2. Conduct prevention efforts by regulating environmental
resources in an effort to improve the degree of health and welfare
of human life.
3. Cooperating and implementing integrated programs among the
community and government institutions and non-governmental
organizations in dealing with natural disasters or infectious disease
outbreaks.
The objectives and scope of environmental health specifically
include efforts to improve or control the human environment, which
include:
1. Provide sufficient clean water and meet health requirements.
2. Food and beverages produced on a large scale and widely
consumed by the public.
3. Air pollution due to residual fuel burning, coal, forest fires, and
toxic gases that are harmful to health and other living things and
are the cause of ecosystem changes.
4. Liquid and solid waste originating from households, agriculture,
animal husbandry, industry, hospitals, and others.
5. Control of arthropods and rodents that are vectors of disease
and how to break the chain of disease transmission.
6. Housing and buildings that are livable and meet health
requirements.
7. Noise, radiation, and occupational health.
8. Sanitation survey for environmental health program planning,
monitoring and evaluation
