FLOW OF THE DISCUSSION: Hi everyone!

I hope youre still all ears

In continuation I am going to tackle about Communication of learners needs, progress and achievements
to the key stake holders?

So in relation to COMMUNICATION: This refers to numerous ways of informing stakeholders on the

needs, progress, and accomplishments of learners,

LEARNERs NEEDS: This term describes the apparent conduct ( observable behavior) or attitude of a
learner that the teacher must address right away.

This strand tells us how important building parent-teacher relationship is. Why so? As a beginning
teacher, Why do we need to communicate with the stake holders? Who are the stakeholders? These are
the parents or teachers.

Parents are key partners in reviewing a child’s progress. Do you agree? If you agree pls click the thumbs
up emoji. ….Parents hold vital parts of the jigsaw of understanding the whole child,.

Parents are also important links to other experiences the child may have outside the setting.

Going back to the question; Why is it important to communicate with parents?

Because effective communication builds understanding and trust. When teachers, parents or carers
understand and trust each other will all be able to work together to support children’s well-being and
development.

Communicating with parents about their child’s academic achievement will assist them in determining
where they need to improve and how to handle any concerns or challenges limiting their child’s
learning.

5.4.1 Demonstrate familiarity with a range of strateg ies for communicating learner needs, progress and
achievement.

To help open the lines of communication, keep parents involved in everything their
child is doing in school. Keep them informed about school events, classroom
procedures, educational strategies, assignment dates, behavior, academic progress, or
anything school related.
But how do we inform them? Its either in the form of home room meeting, or calling the
parent privately to discuss the behavior of the child that should be addressed
immediately ….strengths and weaknesses of the child

Another way of reaching out is to hold

Parent Conferences — The greatest way to connect with parents is face-to-
face, and many teachers decide to use this method as their primary means of
communication. Discussing academic accomplishments and goals, the student's
areas of need, and any worries the parent may have about their child or the
education they are receiving should all be covered during the meeting.
Progress Reports — Progress reports can be sent home weekly, monthly or a
few times a year. This method of communication provides parents with concrete
proof of their child's intellectual development. In case parents have any queries
or feedback regarding their child's progress, it is best to provide your contact
information in the progress report.
That’s it for my part I will give the floor to Ms. Bridget Ocag

STRANDS 5.4 ANSWER

Conclusion:

 Domain 5 is concerned with the procedures related to the many assessment instruments
and methods that instructors use to track, assess, record, and report on the needs,
development, and accomplishments of their students.

 It has to do with teachers giving students the essential feedback regarding learning
results. Teachers are able to choose, plan, and employ effective assessment techniques
thanks to this feedback, which also informs the reporting cycle.

  One of the most important tasks for a teacher is to provide effective and meaningful
feedback to students. Feedback teaches students more about themselves and the quality
of their work than any other single course in their educational career.

 The progressive process of continuing learning and assessment relies heavily on

feedback. Giving feedback on a regular basis can significantly increase learning
achievement. It entails the dissemination of knowledge regarding many areas of
comprehension and performance, and it can be done so by practitioners, peers, oneself,
and learners.

 The teachers should always give a report to the parents on what progress is happening
to the student.

 Collaborate with parents to keep track of the progress of the child.

Before I end this report, I want everyone to type in their major take aways in the chat box..Remember
that feedback is necessary for us beginning teachers to know if you really understood our reports.
( I will read two replies) okay, thank you everyone, thank you for your interactions. That would be all.
