1. What is the CHURCH?

You might be accustomed to considering the church as a structure that you visit.
However, the church is described in God's Word as a gathering of people that you belong
to.

The term "church" appears three times in the Bible:

● the entire church, or all those who have ever followed Jesus and will do so in the
future.

● the local church, or all the followers of Jesus who reside in or close to a certain
region of the world

● The church at home is made up of all followers of Jesus who gather wherever
they live.

In simple churches, Jesus is the center and the head of spiritual families. They are
spiritual families that follow God, show love to others, and grow in their faith. They can
establish a city or regional church when a number of these little churches band together to
accomplish something greater. The simple churches in all of history are connected by
networks into regions to form the universal church.

What is the purpose of the Church and the reasons of its existence?

Making final preparations for the establishment of God's Kingdom on earth is the role of
the church. Its goals are to first help men develop Christlike characteristics in their lives
and then to change society so that the world might become a better and more peaceful
place to live.
The church promotes prayer, teaches prayer, and practices prayer, and we always
remember what it says in Philippians 4: 6-7: " Do not be anxious for anything, but in
everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
