According to the third schedule of the document, Indus river dolphin is a
protected animal which should never be hunted or processed. According to the fourth schedule of the document, penalties would be charged for trafficking and hunting. For hunting, 10 to 45 thousand rupees would be charged and about 2 weeks to 2 months will be imprisonment time. For cruelty and unlawful treatment of animals, about 2 to 35 thousand will be charged and 1month to 2 years will be imprisonment time. For trade and traffic of animal, 20 to 45 thousand will be charged and 6 months to 3 years will be imprisonment time.
