Unit Title: ANG AKING PAARALAN


Time Requirement: 30 minutes x 5days, 8 weeks

Target Students: Grade 1


Rationale: This chapter is about students awareness to develop basic information of the
school where they are in. It is important for them to know how important school
is where they establish the building blocks of knowledge and their second home.

GOALS: • To allow children to learn more about their school, roots and appreciate the value
of having one.
• To teach students about the school's role in their future success and;
• Finally, to teach them about their obligations as students in the school and
educate them to become a good citizens.

OBJECTIVES:
A. Content Standards: The students must be able comprehend the significance of
identifying the basic physical information environment of their
own schools and individuals. Here, you may assist with the
development of each young student's ability.

B. Performance Standards: The learner should be able express recognition of their own
school.

C. Learning Competencies/ Objectives: 1. States information about own school: its


name (and why it was named the school this
year), location, parts thereof, year of
establishment and this few years, and those
name of building or room (and why named
after those this year)
2. Describe the role of people who facilitates
the school and staff.
3. Explain and recognize the importance of the
school, following the schools rules and value
to their community.
4. Students should be able describe the
aspects of their schools.
5. Reflect the changes of own school by doing
creative methods and artwork.
6. Should be able to research stories about
educated and uneducated children.
7. Identify the difference between educated
and uneducated man.

 Metacognitive Development: Examples; Self-assessments, note taking
and vocabulary assignments.
 Bridging: Examples; Think-pair-share, quick-writes and anticipatory
charts.
 Schema-Building: Examples; Compare and contrast, peer teaching and
projects.
 Contextualization: Examples; demonstrations, media, manipulatives
and repetition.
 Text Representation: Examples; Student created drawings, videos and
games.
 Modeling: Examples; Speaking slowly and clearly, modeling the
language you want students to use and providing samples of student
work.
