Tube guide includes technical data of seel tubes and tube semi-products, made in company Zeleziame Pedbrezové. Technical data ore included in national and worlwide standards or regulations, or bilateral technical delivery conditions end terms. Application of tube products have fo be in compliance with particular law and rules, concerning safety, healt protection and environment. For this reason is short standardisation survey listed in handbook Attention: In the countries of European Union there were European standards (EN) adapted into the system of national standards, Previous standards are not valid by now. Previous standards should net be used in commercial communication for his reason, but valid EN standards Data from previous standards, shown in surveys, during temporary period support he comparison ofindividval tube parameters, colder technical documeniaiion study, possible tube alternative to previous standards finding ee GOST, USA (ASTM, ASME, ANSI,API) and JIS standards are still vali 2 Committee for standardization and standard Steel tubes - classification and terminology International, worldwide recognized actual standards areissued by two standardization institutions resident in Gene ISO (International Standards Organization) - issu- ing universal standards IEC (International Electrotechnical Com: suing electrotechnie standards ISO standards are accepted worldwide and therefore they use ally do not go trough the national stondard systems. For steel lube they are applied rarely. ISO numbers are in brackets. jon) ~ is rdization European standardization is analogousto global system, butitcon- sis of three commitees. Two fis resident in Brusel, the thtd one in Sophia Antipolis (France): CEN (Comité Européen de Normal tion) ~ issves Universal standards, Standards regarding iron and steel are iswued by European Commision for Standardization of Iron and Steel {ECISS) and appropriate Technical Committees 1éen de Normalisation Elec- CENELEC (Comité Eu trotechnique) - issves ETSI (Eu tute) - issues tolecommunication standards National committee for standan They issve national standards, Connecting to European Union enlarging are European standards (EN) implemented into the national standard systems (fechnical standard harmonization). Unlike ISO standards are EN implemented without modification and hereby all discordan’ national standards have to be cam celled. Connected with this the philosophy of standard use has essentially changed: in the past was performance of standard regulations obligatory. At present appear iwo terms: relevance and obligation of standard. The standard is vail bul, except some clauses, its observance is not compulory. Standard gives recom mend technical terms, wich need not be applied. On the other hand two factors arise: + ifthe standard is specific inthe contract between seller and buyer, itwill become a part of contract and all its demands have to be executed + in the case some damage occures in consequence of feilure of harmonized standard claims, he who filed terms, defined by gowernment acl, bear liability. That's because by law if national standard system assumes harmonized EN, i willbe: come also harmonized. After publishing in Official publica lion of national standards standard may be used for advise- ment of technical terms execution. Another standards Here belong mainly company standards. These can not be con trary to national standards Further class are the standards of eraft companies, e.g. in USA (AISI, ASTM, ASME, API, SAE} Vlid bilateraltechnical terms or specifications can be shutdown between commercial pariners Technical standards are « part of legislation valid in appropriate industrial field Specific connection of particular regulations is shown in the copter of individual ube range Mentioned terms of steel tubes are in standard EN 10079 or others (10 6929) Tube classification goes out several aspects: mode of produc ‘ion, cross section shape, tube ends reaiment, sphere of ube usage. According te EN 10079 tubes rank among socaled long prod ucts. Its @ product having permanent circular or anther hollow section along, with both ends fee and with relatively ong length By mo juction are tubes divided to two big groups ~ seamless and welded. Each ofthis groups can be sectional: ized by method of tube production ~ hot or cold production A part of tube products are also so-called hollow sections. Here belong seamless or welded tubes of circular, square or rectangular section, used as part of building steel constructions ‘or machine units Hollow bars are seamless tubes of circular section designed for production of machine parts by machining. Different from the two first ube groups hollow bars have qualitative and di mensional parameters, which fi fo requirements of workabiliy, heat treatment or surface quality Tubes inthis guide book ing mode of production, similar to ordering in new steel tube ication consider Technical standards of steel tubes Technical characterises of see! tubes are detciled in the sppro- priate technical standards Pipe parameters could be divided into three main groups ‘+ dimensions and their tolerances (depending upon the tube manufacturing method) + steel grade and steel conditions + technical delivery conditions Individval national bureaus of standards use dlfferent procedures for data standardization of stel pipes. In real if three opfions + each main group of parameters is contained in a single stan dard. The standards ae interconnected using references tothe related ones. Dimensional standard contains dimensional ables and their tolerances; steel standard contains its chemical compo- siion and mechanical properties for various methods of pipe manufacturing and see! tempers. The tied standard of the tech nical delivery conditions (TDC) seis out all remaining require- ments for pipes ~ tesing, acceptance, cerifcates, packaging, marking, ete. AI the same fime it contains references to other standards where these actviies are described (e.g. STN, CSN) the second oplion is when sieel end its characteristics ore included into the TDC standard, and this one contains dimen: sional tolerances, Two standards are used to describe a pipe - dimensional standard that contains dimensional table and the TDC standard (e.g. DIN) the third option ~ pipe parameters are in a single standard, which aso contains the dimensional table, or extraction from the general table of dimensions consituling which is the con. tent ofthe general dimensional standard (e.g. NFA, EN). In real if there are cases, where both the seller and the buyer make bileteral TDC contracts, or they deliver pipes in accor dance with the buyer's specifications, which can also include. the references to national standards. Normally, this is the case, where the demands for pipes are higher then those set-up in the national standards Production programm - products classification by application 4 ( ntinuously cast steel blooms X Page 13, I \ | Seamless steel tubes for building and mechanical and general use Page 14 (Bee tubes for building (hollow structural sections) Page 14 (( Tubes for mechanical and general engineering rape 16 ~ Tubes for machining rage 16 (Tubes for machine parts and general use* rege 16 \(Precision tubes and HPL tubes (seamless and welded) Page 60-93 sal (( Seamless steel tubes for pressure equipments page 22 (Tubes with specified room temperature properties Pege 22 (( Tubes with specified elevated temperature properties « Alloy fine grain steel tubes for pressure equipments Pege 42 (Tbes with specified low temperature properties Page aa C Tubes for heat exchangers” * Poge 48 (Tubes with internal rifling Page 53 ( Pipes suitable for welding and threading Pege 54 G (Line pipe Page 56 (Casing and tubing (upon agreement) Page 58 * Upon agreement also tubes (sections) with non-ounded crass section ** Special offer upon agreement: Seamless or welded tubes for heat exchangers carbon, low alloy, feritic- and austenitic alloy steels the possbiliy of deliveries oflong tubes U- bending and finning capabilities 4 N {| Precision cold drawn seamless steel tubes Page 60 (Standard precision tubes Page 60 (inte tubes (for mechanical treatment - HPZ) Page 72 (ante tubes (HP - ,,ready to use”) Page 74 « Tubes for hydraulic and pneumatic lines = HPL pens 76 ( Tubes for automotive industry page 84 z Injections tubes (for Diesel engines) Page 84 ( Bearings tubes Page as ion welded steel tubes Page as Cold sized precision welded tubes Page 86 \ Cold drawn precision welded tubes Page a8 ( Cold sized precision welded square and rectangular tubes Page 91 Precision welded tubes for automotive industry Page 91 Precision welded tubes for hydraulic and pneumati = welded tubes for heat exchanger Page a8 Tube semiproducts Page 92 Buttwelding steel pipe fittings Page 94 Submerged arc longitudinal welded steel tubes and pipes pags 192 “—\ (—~\ (™ Summary of technical delivery conditions for groups of tubes according to purpose of application see page 124. In this chapter there is @ general description of these characteristics withthe aim to serve as basis for description of individval partievlar types and groups of steel tubes. They are: + tube sizes + steel for tubes = steel clasilications and definitions = steel marking system for tubes according to EN + technical delivery conditions (TDC) of tubes (excludes testing) + tube testing tes! types = types of document control = individval tests Tube ‘The tube dimensions belong among the basie characteristics of tubes. For industry needs and general use, tubes are menvtac- tured in diameters ranging from fenths of milimeters to those hav- ing diameter of a few meters It's mandatory that the tube sizes be set out in such way that they define the tube completely from this point of view. In the lubes with circular eross section, there are, except for he length, three main dimensions: ouside diameter, inside diameter and wall thickness. In circular tubes two values out of hose mentioned are given. According to ube types we can also assign to dimensions the appropriate dimensional tolerances. Dimensions of individval tubes are not ereated by chance, but they are arranged ino the dimensional sequels under the specific system. The tube sizes are in mm; in the USA and some other counties they use inches {"Zoll” in German]. In this case tubes are also classified info two groups - “Tubes” are those used in mechanical applications and in energy facilities, while inches are used forthe acival ouside diameter. “Pipes” are those used in Pipelines fr different mates. Pipe size is denoted as he nominal pipe size, and up to 12 inches the denotaion is given as an ap- proximate value (clearance) of the inside pipe diameter (more details can be found in the parricular pipe types). Alter converting the pipe dimensions to milim system there is ast and preferred sequel outside diameters of sige! pipes created {the first series in EN 10220, DIN 2448, et) However, this doesnt mean that the pipes within Series 2 and 3 are not used at all. The sizes in Series 2 and 3 [for use in Europe, and supplemented by rounded off dimensions in mn) consitute the standards for Tubes, used in energy facilities design, and in tubes intended for mecharical vsage. Sequel of pipe wal thicknesses has ils origin inthe inch Unit sy tem, where in order to express a size uses actions. The series “Schedule” forms pipe wall thickness (40, 60, 80, 120, ete), tand in some dimensions is inlereonnected with the mass class (STD, XS, XXS}. These values, converted to milimeters, form a part of pipe wall thickness series. (Note: size - value Schedule, 0g 40, is nol constanl, bd dependant upon the oulside diameter of 2 pipe}. In the Tube category the wall thickness values are de- rived ether from “scales” BWG, SWG, or other ones. After con version to milimetres, these values become a part of sequel in steel tube wall thicknesses For precision tubes used in Europe and in counties using SI units are established the dimensional series wih rounded off measures, of outside diameters and wall thicknesses ces used in the SI The following formula is used for calculation of reference weight (mass): M=~[D - 1]xT*0,0246615 {kg/m}, orx10,69 [intlb/A]. Formula is applicable for carbon steel. They we Meckblat. For he transition period the AD 2000 - Merkblat directives were prepared, where the st Directive 97/23/EC of he European Parlamen! and ofthe Coun (PED 97/23 EC) valid fr selected pressure equipment. Pressure equipment in erm ofthis directive withstands the maximum alowable pressure (5) thts greater thon 0.5 bar, whereby be talking about presse above the normal sinoxphere presi ie. overpresur. Pursuant Ditecive PED 97/23 EC, pressure equipments are divided into three lypes for which he harmonized EN standards are valid, They re os follows 2.1. Steam and hotwate ube boiler ~ 2.2. Pressure vessels (nfred) - EN 13445 2.3. Metallic indvstil piping -EN 13480 Farts of two ofthese harmerized standards are prescribed by rateils hat are used for cnsiution of equipment that i pressure sessed.
