Find out if there is a department in MINERD where they work with National and
Diagnostic Tests. What is the name of this department? What do they do with
results and data? What is the name of the person in charge of that Department?

Dirección de Evaluación de la Calidad del Ministerio de Educación (Pruebas

Nacionales) is the MINERD´s department in charge of National and Diagnostic Test
in DR.

Its purpose is to contribute to the improvement of educational quality by the

assessment, research, and use of learning outcomes and associated factors, as well as
the dissemination and application of these findings in various educational settings.
Work is done in three basic areas of action: national examinations, diagnostic
evaluations, and international studies.

After getting the results and data of these tests they established, coordinated, and led
the plans and activities related to the evaluation of the educational system in
accordance with the established quality standards, they measured learning outcomes
according to the grades and levels set. Through the creation of tests, tools, and
methodologies that are in accordance with the curriculum to enable accurate, reliable,
and timely evaluation. They also investigate the variables related to learning successes
and system quality. Sharing the findings of assessments and studies with the
appropriate internal and external audiences, as well as supporting their use as a tool
for systemic improvement in educational institutions generally is another of their
steps. And finally fostering the culture of evaluation use throughout MINERD's many
contexts.
