Introduction

Today, government affects all aspects of our lives through public policy as
Everyone has a stake in the public policies enacted by federal, state, and local
governments , So Public policy is best described as the broad area of government
laws, regulations, court decisions, and local ordinances that affects every aspects of
the society . Because of this all reasons government and public policy are two
sides of the same coin.

So government and public policy have a great connection and relationship as tree
and its branches and we can say each of them cannot stand alone.

Public policy is a course of action created and/or enacted, typically by a


government, in response to public, real-world problems. Many actors can be
important in the public policy process, but government officials ultimately choose
public policy in response to the public issue or problem at hand. In doing so,
government officials are expected to meet public sector ethics and take the needs
of all project stakeholders into account.

Public policies come from all governmental entities and at all levels: legislatures,
courts, bureaucratic agencies, and executive offices at national, local and state
levels. On the federal level, public policies are laws enacted by Congress,
executive orders issued by the president, decisions handed down by the US
Supreme Court, and regulations issued by bureaucratic agencies

Generally speaking public policy is what the government chooses to do, or not to
do. It is a decision made by government to either act, or not act in order to resolve
a problem. Government ministers are the elected officials at the apex of
government who have the right to articulate public policy and Non-elected officials
then are required to implement the policy through programs.

Government is often thought of to be the only entity involved in policy making.


Government does have the ultimate decision making and funding power, but there
are many other actors that contribute to public policy, often in a network on which
government relies for the delivery of complex policy goals

public policy is to see it as the broad strategy government uses to do its job. More
formally, it is the relatively stable set of purposive governmental actions that
address matters of concern to some part of society.
