End of Sales, Engineering, and Life for the Cisco uBR924 Cable
Access Router
The last Cisco uBR924 software release is Cisco IOS Release 12.2(1a). Only the software images listed in Table
2 for the Cisco uBR924 will be supported on an ongoing basis.

The product substituted for the Cisco uBR924 may be different depending on the customer application.
Table 3 shows the recommended replacement products for the Cisco uBR924 in various applications.

Data-only commercial services Cisco uBR905 The CableLabs-certified Cisco uBR905 adds
hardware acceleration for IPSec. All Cisco
uBR924 data features are supported. The
Cisco uBR905, however, excludes voice ports.
Voice-over-cable Cisco CVA122 The CableLabs-certified Cisco CVA122
supports Network Address Translation
(NAT). Firewall and IPSec feature sets are not
available on this product. Nor is a “Plain Old
Telephone Service (POTS)” failover port
supported.
Voice and data commercial Cisco uBR925 The Cisco uBR925 will be orderable on July 2,
services 2001 with FCS scheduled for the end of July.
The Cisco uBR925 adds hardware
acceleration for IPSec and offers a USB port.
Availability
The Cisco uBR924 orderability will be closed on August 1, 2001. Replacement products and alternate software
images listed above are available and orderable.
